ENVISION Architects Ages 13+

Envision Architects is for the teen who learns best by doing something real. This is a program for students who are ready to engage with ideas at a genuine level of depth — conducting original field research, producing published writing, building functional structures, analyzing actual finances, and engaging with the living community of the Williams Valley and Rogue watershed.

Every block is anchored in a core academic subject — Science, Language Arts, Mathematics, or History — but no block stays within disciplinary boundaries. Students move fluidly between fermentation chemistry and food history, between place-based philosophy and environmental law, between natural building and structural mathematics. Pacifica's 400 acres, woodworking studio, music studio, and surrounding watershed are the classroom, and the Williams Valley community is the wider world students learn to show up for.

Architects is for teens who are ready to be taken seriously — and who are ready to take their education into their own hands. The program meets Oregon State Standards while preparing students for whatever comes next: college, entrepreneurship, travel, or a life built around meaningful work in the world.

Highlights to look forward to:

• Design and build a functional structure on Pacifica's land from site assessment through construction
• Conduct original multi-week field experiments and publish findings as formal scientific reports
• Produce a substantial piece of long-form nature writing submitted to a real publication or competition
• Study ethnobotany and plant medicine using Pacifica's living landscape as the field site
• Create a fully annotated original map of Pacifica's land combining fieldwork, history, and ecology
• Design a real community initiative and take the first concrete steps toward making it happen
• Conduct water quality monitoring contributing to an actual record of the Klamath watershed's health
• Trimester capstone events open to families and the wider community
• Outdoor excursions, Envision School-Wide Dance, and entrepreneurship opportunities throughout the year

Enrollment & Tuition Information

Enrollment Deposit & Supply Fee
A $200 non-refundable enrollment deposit is required per child and is applied toward the annual $200 supply fee. The annual supply fee covers the majority of classroom supplies, curriculum materials, and guest teacher fees. Occasionally, a small additional fee may be requested for specialized materials needed to provide extra academic support. In addition, students enrolled in the Architects class will have an additional supply fee to cover the cost of the compiled reader used throughout the school year. Families will always be notified in advance of any additional fees. Families are responsible for providing their student's individual school supplies. A detailed school supply list will be provided upon registration.

School Year Commitment
This is a full-year program. We ask families to enroll with the intention of participating through all three trimesters, as our curriculum and community are designed to grow together across the full school year.

Tuition Payment Schedule
Annual tuition of $3,960 (~$40/day) is divided into three equal trimester payments for your convenience. 

Fall Trimester — Due September 22 — $1,320
Winter Trimester — Due December 4 — $1,320
Spring Trimester — Due March 30 — $1,320

Sibling Discounts
The annual $200 supply fee is waived for every other child enrolled. The discount applies as follows:

1st child — $200 annual supply fee
2nd child — Supply fee waived
3rd child — $200 annual supply fee
4th child — Supply fee waived
This pattern continues for each additional child enrolled. When registering a child whose supply fee is waived, enter discount code SIBLING at checkout.

Outdoor Excursions
Each trimester includes an optional outdoor excursion (or day-trip outing for the younger classes) past trips have included rock climbing, skiing, rafting, and camping. Our Guides' time to plan, accompany, and execute logistics for these adventures is included in your tuition. Additional costs such as gear rental, food, reservations, and permits are divided evenly among the group and typically range from $20–$150 per trip depending on the excursion.

Educational Vendor Funding
Pacifica and Envision Academy Guides are qualified educational vendors with Teach NW, Open Ed, and REACH. Your stipends may be applied towards your tuition.
 

Required Tuition Payment Setup

Prior to the start of the school year, you will receive an invitation email from our bookkeeper through QuickBooks to set up your recurring tuition payments. Families may choose to pay by bank transfer (ACH) or credit card.

Through QuickBooks, you will be asked to:

1) Select your preferred payment method (bank transfer or credit card)
2) Enter your payment informationFor ACH payments: routing and checking account numbers
3) For credit card payments: your card information
4) Review and accept the recurring payment authorization
5) Confirm participation in the automatic payment plan for the duration of the Envision Education Program

Please complete this process as soon as you receive the invitation. Payment information and authorization must be submitted and approved before the start of the program.

Parent Participation and Volunteer Hours

We ask that families contribute 10 hours volunteering with the collective during the course of the year.

Pacifica Use Permits

If you plan to stay and enjoy the property before or after class, a Pacifica Use Permit is required. Your purchase directly supports the maintenance of this special place and helps ensure Pacifica can continue serving our community for generations to come.

General Annual Use Permit* – $40/year
General Day Use Pass* – $5 per Vehicle

Your annual permit is valid from January 1–December 31, 2026, from dawn to dusk (*except during posted closures). 

Your permit is a tax-deductible donation. Your support keeps Pacifica wild, accessible, and thriving.

DISCLAIMER & PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

By enrolling your child in our programs, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

Our programs may involve physical activities and an increased level of risk. While we strive to create a safe and enriching environment for all students, our staffing and resources may not allow for the level of supervision and individualized support required by some children with specific behavioral or emotional needs.

We encourage all families to contact us in advance at education@pacificagarden.org to discuss their child’s needs so we can determine whether our program is an appropriate fit.

By proceeding with enrollment, you understand and agree that:

• If your child’s behavior is consistently disruptive to the class, or
• If their need for supervision exceeds what our staff can reasonably provide,

We reserve the right to cancel their enrollment, and you will be required to withdraw your child from the program.

These measures are in place to ensure a safe and supportive experience for all students.

I understand that participation in events and activities at Pacifica may involve inherent risks of injury to myself, my child, or dependent, as well as to third parties and spectators. I voluntarily choose to participate and/or allow my child or dependent to participate, fully accepting and assuming all such risks.

In consideration of Pacifica providing access to its programs and facilities, I agree to release and discharge Pacifica, its staff, instructors, officers, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims or liabilities, including those arising from negligence (active or passive), for personal injury, property damage, or other loss incurred by myself or my dependent.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pacifica from any costs, including attorney’s fees, resulting from claims arising from my or my dependent’s actions during participation.

I acknowledge that Pacifica does not carry medical insurance for participants and that any existing insurance coverage does not affect the validity of this release.

I understand that this release prevents me from pursuing legal claims against Pacifica for injuries or damages related to participation in its programs.

Media Release
I understand that photographs and videos may be taken during Pacifica events in which I and/or my child or dependent may appear. These images may be used to promote Pacifica’s programs through social media, printed materials, local news, and the Pacifica website.

Personally identifiable information, including names, will only be used with additional written permission if the individual is over 16 or from a parent/guardian if the subject is a minor.

Full payment by the dates listed above is required for participation in this program.

If Pacifica cancels the program, all participants will receive either a full refund or a credit toward a future program.

There are no refunds for participant cancellations or withdrawals.
