• BSA Merit Badges

offered by Lil' Bit of Life
  • Lil' Bit of Life is the Merit Badge Counselor for Horsemanship, Animal Science, Nature, Farm Mechanics, Veterinary Science, Outdoor Cooking & Camping.  We offer Troops an opportunity to complete a list of activities in areas focusing on the badge they are seeking.  Keep in mind that each badge takes approximately 2 to 5 hours depending on the workshop, number of youth, how engaged they are for us to teach.  Before completing form, you need to have prior approval from the farm to schedule.

Myself and the volunteers are here to teach with a hands-on approach.

The youth will be assisting with many of the instructions and we go into great detail.  We do not require their workbooks to be completed; however we ask that they have reviewed, bring your workbook and prefilled Blue Card.

Anything that can be done prior in the workbooks would be greatly appreciated and helpful to begin your day with us.

Class C - casual, non-uniform clothing, often a troop-specific t-shirt or a scout-related t-shirt with BSA shorts and socks. It's an "activity" uniform worn for less formal occasions like workdays, casual meetings, or travel.

We have helmets that the kids can use for horsemanship.

Bring water and a lunch and enjoy your day!

Reminder: Be respectful of our animals and do not feed them anything unless we provide it for you.

Parents:  When coming down the drive, please drive slowly past the house and into the back area to park.  Walk to the goat area and through the gate and proceed up the incline to check in classes start at 10.

Thank you!  Looking forward to being your host!

  • The Nitty Gritty:

Please remember that we are a farm. The farm has dirt, animals, poop, allergens, and a host of other potentially harmful hazards. We do our best to keep animals who are kind and reduce/remove potential hazards, but we are still a working farm. Enter the farm at your own risk - and enjoy your visit!
