ELIGIBILITY
The opportunity to choreograph for the Special Project 2027 is open to young artists who have participated in a Major Project in 2024, 2025 or 2026.

If you are not eligible to be a choreographer based on these guidelines, but would like to apply, please contact Quantum Leap to discuss.

The opportunity to dance for the Special Project 2027 is open to young artists turning 12 or older in 2027, who are Level 2 or 3 Quantum Leap members in 2026, OR who participated in The Chaos Project 2026.

ALL Special Project 2027 choreographers and dancers must become 2027 Members.
PROJECT SCHEDULE
SCHEDULE CONDITIONS
- Choreographers are expected to be fully available across the project timeline.
- For weekend rehearsals from February to April, choreographers may nominate their availability as Saturdays OR Sundays.
- If you have a clash with the project timeline, please list date/s and details below for consideration. Please note that some clashes may not be permitted.
- Please note that any changes to availability made after the submission of this form may impact your place in this project.
Dates for the Special Project 2027 are:

SPECIAL PROJECT 2027 - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

We encourage you to articulate your inspiration/curiosity/vision as clearly as possible. If you have strong instincts regarding specific details, such as technical requirements please include them. Please note though, that Phase 1 (research and development) is dedicated to diving deeper into your concept and this may influence some details, such as the length of your piece and number of dancers you will work with – will be confirmed at the end of Phase 1.

AGREEMENTS
All cast members are required to commit to attending all scheduled rehearsals and performances included in the schedule that has been provided to you.

Your full immersion in the creative process ensures the best possible experience for you and the best outcome for the production.

Your commitment to the creative process will increase your understanding of the work we are making – and strengthen your personal connection to it. Beyond simply knowing the steps better (because you’ve had more practice) you will also understand where the ideas came from. This will empower your sense of self and confidence, as a performer on stage – and enhance the meaning for the audience, as they view.

To support your full attendance, Quantum Leap agrees to clearly communicate rehearsal and production week schedules in a timely fashion.

As a participant, you agree to:

1. Be available for all rehearsals and performances as scheduled and agreed.

2. Prioritise the project schedule and avoid other activities (including appointments) during rehearsal/performance times.

3. Advise Quantum Leap as soon as possible if you cannot make a rehearsal due to illness. Please note, absences are only for extremes – we are looking for a 100% commitment from you.

4. Participate fully and use your best abilities in every rehearsal and performance.

Dancers and families are required to agree:
- Changes to availability may impact your place in this project.
- If your availability changes, you must submit a request in writing . Please note, requests may not be approved. Decisions are made based on overall project conditions, and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the entire team.

IMAGE CONSENT

Image consent is required for the project for production images.

Young artists are never named in our public use of these images.
I hereby give my consent for Quantum Leap to record, copy, edit, adapt, modify, distribute or exhibit my image, likeness, voice and/or transcript, in whole or in part, in any form or media, and including the right to sublicense these rights for educational and promotional/publicity purposes for an undefined period of time. I understand that I will not receive any payment or consideration in agreeing to this release.
PROJECT FEE

The Special Project 2027 is heavily subsidised. Participants pay $850pp to participate as a choreographer - this includes all costs associated with the Mirramu residency, accommodation, food, onsite support.

The project fee covers approximately 80 hours of contact time, including workshop, rehearsal and production time facilitated by professional mentors, a fully produced performance season in a theatre, including lighting and sound design, costumes, marketing, and professional photography. One on one mentorship is also provided.
