Charlie and the Chocolate Factory JR. is your golden ticket to producing a crowd-pleasing, outrageous ensemble musical with plenty of delicious roles. With an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by David Greig, this 60-minute show also features songs from the beloved 1971 motion picture including "The Candy Man," "I've Got a Golden Ticket," and "Pure Imagination."

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas.

I, the undersigned parent or guardian, do hereby grant permission for my child(ren) or myself, listed above to participate in SOAR Regional Arts activities and performances. I hereby release SOAR Regional Arts, all adult supervisors, agents and volunteers from any liability in the event of any accident en route or during activities or in any part of a sponsored trip. I further acknowledge and understand that I will be responsible for any and all medical bills incurred on the behalf of my child for physical illness or injury sustained during SOAR Regional Arts activities.

Please list any conflicts dates you may have with the rehearsal schedule in the provided box below.  The tentative rehearsal schedule is found on the www.soararts.org webpage.  Please review the schedule and put all known conflicts dates on this document. If you have more than three conflicts for rehearsal, please contact pm@soararts.org before registering. No conflicts are allowed for tech week and performances.

In the event that we are unable to continue with our Academy production we will try to create solutions for obstacles we may face. Below you will find our best to worst case scenario for what could happen this winter and this production: 

• Live performance with audience.
• Filmed performance to stream with no audience.

Declaration by Parent or Guardian

I, the undersigned, parent/legal guardian declare that the information and medical details on this registration form are correct to the best of my knowledge and I hereby apply for a place in SOAR Regional Arts for my child or ward. I understand that SOAR Regional Arts reserves the right to restrict admission at its own discretion.

Participation and Medical Emergencies

I grant permission for my child or ward to participate in all activities, except as indicated under "allergies and/or special needs", and I understand that SOAR Regional Arts provides no health insurance or medical coverage and that the signing of this form acknowledges my responsibility for payment of any medical treatment which may be required while my child or ward is participating in classes in the school or church facilities. I understand that the participant may not miss more than three rehearsals and must attend all performances unless approval is given by the production staff.

I further grant permission for SOAR Regional Arts or its representatives to procure any and all necessary medical help for my child or ward while they are under the supervision of SOAR Regional Arts and authorize SOAR Regional Arts or its representatives to permit any competent medical person to take all reasonable measures to treat any injury or sickness that my child or ward may suffer.

Release

By signing this form I herby state that I release all members of SOAR Regional Arts staff and any other party involved in the organization administration of SOAR Regional Arts from any liability as a result of any injury sustained in or around a performance venue.

Photo/Name release

I, hereby grant SOAR Regional Arts and its legal representatives the irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to use and publish my name, photographs or video images of me, or in which I may be included, for any purpose authorized by SOAR Regional Arts, including but not limited to: website use, marketing materials and advertising use.  This grant includes the right to modify and retouch the images in the discretion of SOAR Regional Arts. I understand that there will be no compensation to me for this use.  Furthermore, I understand that I will not be given the opportunity to inspect or approve the finished products or the advertising copy or the ed matter that may be used in connection therewith.  In granting this permission to SOAR Regional Arts and its legal representatives, I am fully and without limitation releasing it from any liability that may arise from the use of the participants name and images.

Privacy

I understand that all information supplied on this form will be kept strictly confidential and that SOAR Regional Arts will never divulge any personal information to a third party without my consent.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available but are limited. If you are interested in a scholarship, please contact sales@soararts.org for more information. Scholarship applications are due two weeks prior to the first auditions.

Cancellations

Once your registration has been accepted, any cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to soar@soararts.org. Cancellations are subject to the following policies:

Cancellations made prior to the first day of auditions will receive a 50% refund of fees. Email must be received by December 6th, 2026 11:59pm.
On the first day of auditions (December 7th, 2026, 12:00 am) all fees are forfeited and no refunds will be offered.

Cancellations due to medical reason will require a doctor's note for a refund minus any deposits.

*There is no reduction of fees for late arrival or early departure.

 

**A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

 

We at SOAR Regional Arts hope to stand above the rest. That is why we employ professional directors, choreographers, vocal directors, production managers and stage managers to give you a true theater experience. We feel this is important and work hard to ensure this is the experience you have each and every time.

The rest of the organization however is based on volunteers. The Board of Directors are all volunteers and we spend countless hours doing all it takes to run an organization such as SOAR. But we can’t do it alone. Our organization has grown to the size that without volunteers, we couldn’t continue. That’s where you come in!

We are asking every family to help out. At the beginning of each production, each family will be asked to write a check for $175.00. This check will be held until the end of the production.

There are two options for you:

Option One: Volunteer your time. Each family will be required to complete two volunteering opportunities. Families have the ability to choose which spots best match their interests and schedules. This will be in place of your monetary commitment.

If you choose to volunteer:

• We will collect a check from you at the parent meeting for $175.00.

• You will sign up for a minimum of two opportunities at the parent meeting.

• If you do not meet your volunteer opportunities by the end of strike, your check will be cashed by SOAR Regional Arts per our policy.

• If you meet your requirement, your check will be destroyed.

 

Option Two: Families who do not wish to volunteer will have their checks cashed.

We need your help, so our goal is to never cash a single check!

More detailed information will be sent out in our first cast email. 

Each child will require their own registration. You must select one of the tuition options when registering siblings.

Use coupon code SIBLING when registering your additional participants. The SIBLING coupon code can only be used for immediate family members and must include payment on one registration.
