Queen City Art - CALL TO ARTISTS
It's Small Yall
Submissions Due December 1st
Exhibition Dates: Opening Reception December 12th 2026 show runs through January 3rd 2027
THEME: Its Small Y'all
"It’s Small, Y’all" challenges artists to make a massive impact within a remarkably restricted footprint. By capping the dimensions of every entry at 12" x 12" or smaller, the exhibition strips away the spectacle of scale and forces a deep focus on technical precision, intimacy, and conceptual clarity. This specific constraint creates a level playing field where diverse styles, mediums, and viewpoints can meet side-by-side, united by their miniature boundaries.
The charm of an exhibition like this rests entirely on the unique relationship it fosters between the viewer and the object. Unlike massive canvases or sweeping installations that require distance to appreciate, these compact works demand that you step close, lean in, and inspect the fine details. Every brushstroke, texture, and subtle line becomes magnified, turning the viewing experience into an intentional, quiet conversation between the observer and the art.
Beyond its artistic merit, the show offers a highly accessible gateway for collectors, design enthusiasts, and anyone looking to purchase original art. The modest physical dimensions make these pieces incredibly versatile—perfectly suited for compact urban spaces, gallery walls, or dedicated nooks. "It’s Small, Y’all" ultimately proves that art does not need to occupy a massive space to leave a lasting impression.
All media styles and interpretations of the theme are acceptable, as long as it meets the size requirements.
