PROSPECTUS
"Terrain" is a Juried art show to be held at Ardest Gallery in The Woodlands, Texas, just North of Houston between
The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, February 6th with a presentation by the Juror at 7 p.m.
The Submission Deadline is Friday, January 8th by 11:59 p.m.
Every landscape is a record of something: weather, time, labor, memory, loss. Terrain invites artists to explore the ground beneath us and the worlds we imagine beyond it.
We’re looking for work that treats landscape as more than scenery. That might mean a faithful study of a familiar place, a coastline eroded into abstraction, a map of somewhere that never existed, or the interior terrain of grief, desire, or home. Real or imagined, observed or invented, vast or intimate, we want to see how you read the land and how the land reads you.
Possible directions include:
Places shaped by people, and places that resist them
Memory, migration, and the landscapes we carry with us
Ecology, climate, and change over time
Maps, borders, and invented geographies
The body as landscape; landscape as the body
Dreamscapes, myth, and speculative worlds
