Ash Anderson and Delta Williams are 2026 ATHICA Exhibitions Interns, acting as curators and designers for the exhibition, SOMA. ATHICA invites artists to exhibit work that investigates the theme of somatic memory – how the body catalogues and stores experiences as both emotion and physicality. In an age of rapid technological encroachment upon the mind and body, we seek to interrupt our digital reliance with a focus on the ever-present self. By reconnecting with our bodies, SOMA aims to present an inquiry into the intertwining forces of nature and machine that govern our lives. Material introspection, investigation, and deconstruction are essential elements of this practice, and we welcome all interpretations of our governing theme.
All artists are invited to submit up to three contemporary works in any media by November 20, 2026.
Requirements:
- $10 per entry (maximum of 3 entries)
- All works must be submitted via this online entry form.
- Original artworks in any visual media may be entered.
- Work should have been created within the last three years.
- Please share a high quality jpeg of the work, under 10MB. We recommend that you limit your image sizes to 1280 pixels on the longest side. Video and audio files may be submitted; limited to 10MB for review. Indicate in description if the file is a portion of a longer work.
- No reproductions or works previously shown at ATHICA.
- All 2-D work must be ready to hang with wire. No saw-tooth hangers.
- Your entry fee goes toward exhibition expenses and helps sustain the gallery. We are a 100% community-supported and 100% volunteer non-profit interdisciplinary arts organization supporting Athens, GA.
- Shipping: All accepted artists are responsible for shipping to and from ATHICA (675 Pulaski St, Athens GA 30601). Returned shipping should be enclosed within the shipping container, and all major carriers are accepted.
Sales: ATHICA will refer all sales inquiries directly to the artist, with the request that artists donate 30% of the sale back to ATHICA to help sustain the gallery.
Loan Agreement: All selected artists will sign a loan agreement prior to or upon delivery of work.

- Local Drop-off: November 30 - December 2, 2026, 6-8pm or by individual arrangement

- Opening Reception: Saturday, December 12, 2026, 4-6 PM
- All works will be shipped or picked-up from the gallery by end of day on Tuesday, January 12, 2027.
