THE GIFT SHOW:
A group exhibition featuring artwork under $200

NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS

Seeking the most giftable of artworks! Our walls will be open throughout the holiday season for your bite-sized pieces, your prints, your wearables and bespoke handmade objects. All work must be listed for sale, with a preference for smaller work priced around $100 but no more than $200. No submission limits. We will be encouraging buyers and collectors to take home featured artwork purchases same-day to celebrate the giving season!

Details

Submission fee is $25 per 7 artworks, and this form can be filled out multiple times to include additional work. For smaller greeting cards, postcards, prints or other series (i.e. wearable objects such as jewelry), multiple images may be included to count as one artwork entry under an item name (i.e. "Small Prints").

In order to increase the support for artists this season, we are offering a decreased commission fee of 25% rather than our standard 50%. Please take the rate into account when pricing your work. We also encourage artists to take into account the size when pricing work, and suggest with the cap of $200 that artwork does not exceed 20" in height or width.

All mediums welcome. Selected work can be hand-delivered to the Gallery during designated hours, or shipped to arrive by the installation date. If your artwork is selected and you need to arrange a time outside of the dates listed below, please contact us so we can facilitate.

About open call group exhibitions at The Art Garage:

Eligible Artists: We encourage artists at every stage in their career to submit, and have featured artwork from local, national and international artists. We do ask that if you are an artist under the age of 17 that you consider emailing us to find out more about our Youth Arts Exhibition.

Selection Process: Artwork is selected through a jurying process initiated by the organizer, staff members, and/or by one or more jurors. This process of selection considers the artist's attention to detail and how well they adhered to submission guidelines, their interpretation of the theme, and the quality of the artwork/images submitted. We often receive more artwork than physically can be exhibited in our space; please know that each round will vary, and that a rejection from a specific exhibition does not mean that future work would be rejected outright.

Awards and Gallery Sales: Juried shows include a range of prizes and are mentioned in the call. Prizes may include a People's Choice Award, Sponsor's Selection, Purchase Award, and/or honorable mention in addition to 1st-3rd Place Awards. Please note when pricing your work: The Art Garage charges a 50% commission on artwork sold in the Gallery unless otherwise stated in the call (usually in the event of a sponsorship.) The Gift Show features a rate of 25% for The Art Garage. We reserve the right to advise artists on suggested price points to reflect expectations from collectors and visitors.

Hardship Waiver
Occasionally we have donors and sponsors who provide funding to cover the submission costs for an artist in need. Note that considerations in this submission category are awarded on a first-come, first-serve, and subject to availability. In the event of acceptance without the sponsorship, a small fee may be recouped from any Gallery sales.
