What happens when we loosen our expectations, quiet the mind, and allow creativity to unfold without consciously directing it?
For Ashley Wong, exploring that question grew naturally from a much older practice. She began practicing Automatic Writing in the spring of 1999.

In this 90-minute workshop, Ashley will share some of the history behind Automatic Art, its connection to Automatic Writing, family history, real experiences and examples that have shaped the way she approaches and teaches these practices. Drawing upon nearly three decades of personal experience, she invites participants to explore the possibilities with curiosity and discernment.

The second half of the workshop moves from discussion to experience. Participants will be guided through an Automatic Art exercise using acrylic paint and canvas, with an opportunity to explore what happens when intuition is given a greater role in the creative process. No artistic experience is required. 

MATERIALS PROVIDED:

All materials are provided, and each participant will leave with their own piece of Automatic Art.

Please note that refund requests must be received by email to admin@arcac.ca. If received 6 weeks prior to the start of the event the fee is 90% refundable. If received 2 weeks prior to the start of the event, the fee is 50% refundable. Less than 2 weeks, the fee is no longer refundable. If we cancel for any reason, the fee is 100% refundable.

ABOUT ASHLEY:

Ashley Wong grew up learning metaphysical and divinatory practices from her mother in the 1970s and 80s. Her mother learned by watching her mother, grandmother and great-aunts during her childhood in Britain throughout the 1940s and 50s. According to family accounts, practices including tea leaf reading, trance mediumship, cartomancy and spirit communication can be traced through Ashley's lineage into the 1800s, although exactly how far back these traditions extend remains unknown.

Ashley began practicing Automatic Writing in the spring of 1999, experienced significant breakthroughs in 2014, and has since explored how intuitive expression can move beyond words into creative forms such as Automatic Art. As the owner of Made By A Real WitchTM, she draws upon three decades of personal experience with intuitive and esoteric practices, family history and documented examples in her thought-provoking, award-winning classes and workshops.

Now based on Nova Scotia's South Shore, Ashley brings a grounded, open-minded approach to the intersection of intuition, creativity and the unexplained.
