Freshman Merit Scholarship Exam
(For current 8th Grade Students)
Saturday, December 5, 2026 – 9:00 am
(Doors open at 8:30am. Enter at Doors 4 or 5 near Washington Center Road entrance)
Bishop Dwenger High School will administer the incoming Freshman Merit Scholarship Exam to any current 8th grade student interested in competing for scholarship money to attend Bishop Dwenger High School. The registration cost is $35.00, which is non-refundable. (We apologize for the discrepancy from the Discover Dwenger as it was notified to us about the increase in test price.) The registration deadline is Friday, November 20, 2026. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE, NO EXCEPTIONS! There will be a limited number of seats available at the door the morning of the test for $40.00, beginning at 8:30am. (First come, first served; seating is limited.) There is no alternate date for this exam.
Students are asked to bring 2 sharpened #2 lead pencils (not mechanical). The test will cover Verbal, Quantitative, Reading, Language and Math. Students may go to www.ststesting.com/hspt for test-taking tips. This scholarship money is based solely on the results of this exam.
Students are to arrive by 8:45 am. Testing will start promptly at 9:00 am. Testing will end around 12:15. Students must be picked up by 12:20 pm. If you have any questions, please call the Bishop Dwenger Guidance Department at (260)496-4701.
