IMPORTANT: This form is ONLY for swimmers who have already registered for a class with NCP. It is used to record swimmer information, NOT to sign up for a class. If you have not registered yet, please call 902-736-1211 before filling out form!
Welcome To The NCP Fall Swimming Lessons!

Thank you for joining our swimming lesson program! We follow the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program, and we’re so happy to have your family joining us this fall.

Parent & Tot: $115
30-minute lessons

Preschool: $145
30-minute lessons

Swimmer 1 & 2: $145

Swimmer 3–9: $160
45-minute lessons

Private Lessons: $350
30-minute one-on-one lessons

Semi-Private Lessons: $400
30-minute lessons with two swimmers and one instructor

What to Bring
All swimmers need to bring is a bathing suit and towel. Goggles are optional.

We have a limited number of goggles available to borrow, or swimmers may bring their own. We only allow regular swimming goggles that cover the eyes. Masks that cover the nose are not permitted because swimmers need to practise proper breathing and instructors need to be able to clearly see their faces.

Puddle jumpers and arm floaties are not permitted during lessons. We provide approved lifejackets and other swimming equipment whenever they are needed.

Payment Information
Payment through this form is preferred because it helps us keep track of lesson payments. You are also welcome to pay in person during the first week of lessons.

Lesson payments are non-refundable in cash once lessons have started. If your child is unable to continue, or decides they no longer want to continue, the remaining unused amount will be placed as a credit on your account. This credit can be used toward any other swim, rental or program at the Northside Community Pool.

Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability, Indemnity, and Consent (Minor Participant)

Read before signing. By signing, you waive certain legal rights

1. Scope of Activities
This release applies to all swimming lessons and related activities, including use of pool surfaces, equipment, changing areas, decks, viewing areas, and adjacent facilities at Northside Community Pool (“NCP”).

2. Acknowledgement of Risk
I understand that participation in aquatic activities involves inherent risks of loss, serious bodily injury, permanent disability, or death, including but not limited to: drowning; slips, trips, and falls on wet surfaces; contact with other participants or pool structures; equipment failure; over-exertion; water-borne or communicable illnesses (e.g., COVID-19); and instructor or staff error, including negligence. I freely accept and assume all such risks, known and unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law in Nova Scotia, I hereby release and forever discharge NCP, its directors, officers, employees, instructors, volunteers, and agents from all claims, demands, actions, and causes of action arising out of or in any way connected with my child’s participation, including negligence by NCP or its representatives.

4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless NCP against all claims, demands, costs, liability, damages, and expenses arising from my child’s participation or any failure on my part to disclose relevant information.

5. Health and Disclosure
I verify that my child is physically fit and able to participate. I have disclosed all medical, developmental, behavioral, or communicable conditions (e.g., allergies, heart conditions, behavioral needs, sensory sensitivities) that could affect safety or participation. Failure to disclose may result in removal without refund.

6. Emergency Medical Consent
I authorize NCP staff to administer first aid and, if necessary, seek emergency medical care. I accept full financial responsibility for any such care.

7. Refunds, Cancellations & Makeup

- There are no cash refunds on lessons
- One (1) makeup class permitted per session for absences; space permitting.
- Weather or operational cancellations will be rescheduled or credited.

8. Behavior and Conduct
My child will follow all pool rules and instructor directions. Unsafe or disruptive behavior may lead to removal without refund.

9. Photo/Video Release
I allow NCP to use photos/videos of my child for educational or promotional purposes.

10. Legal Provisions
This agreement is governed by the laws of Nova Scotia. If any part is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. This document constitutes the entire agreement and supersedes other understandings.

Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment and Signature
I confirm I am the parent/legal guardian of the child named above. I have read and understand this document, and I sign it voluntarily. I understand that minors (under age 19 in NS) cannot legally waive their own rights, but as the parent/guardian, I am waiving certain rights on behalf of my child in accordance with this form.
