Core Policies & Terms
Purchase Price: $3,500. Your $200 deposit is credited toward this total and is non-refundable upon voluntary withdrawal.

Matching & Placement: Puppies are matched based on temperament, structure, drive, breeding potential, and household fit. JDV assigns puppies based on best match rather than order of deposit.

Naming: JDV observes the French annual-letter naming tradition (B for 2026, C for 2027). The owner-selected call name starting with the year's designated letter, followed by the kennel suffix "du Joie de Vie", serves as the registered name (e.g., Bonsai du Joie de Vie).

OFA Health Testing: Owners agree to complete all official OFA breed-specific health testing between 24 and 30 months of age.

Activities: Participation in AKC Conformation, Herding, Scent Work, and Protection Sports are strongly encouraged but not required.

Reproduction: JDV retains exclusive decision-making authority over reproduction. No breeding may occur without JDV’s prior written authorization and applicable breeding addendum.

AKC Litter Registration: The AKC requires signatures from all listed co-owners on litter applications. Therefore, JDV will be listed as a co-owner of females SOLELY for the purpose of preventing unauthorized litters from being registered. JDV has no custodial rights to the dog.

Lifetime Support & Return Policy: If an owner can no longer keep the dog at any point in its life, JDV must be contacted first to coordinate rehoming or accept voluntary surrender.
Breeding Terms & Title Incentives
JDV may request two Qualifying Litters from females and three Qualifying Litters from males. A Qualifying Litter consists of at least four puppies surviving through eight weeks of age. JDV covers all requested breeding-specific veterinary and travel expenses.

Female owners receive $1000 for each Qualifying Litter. If the Dog has earned an AKC Champion title and one Working or Performance title, owner receives an additional $2500 or one puppy that is subject to JDV's matching process and current agreement.

Male owners receive $1000 for each Qualifying Litter IF the Dog has earned an AKC Champion title and one Working or Performance title.

Dogs may not be sterilized at any age without JDV’s prior written consent.
What Happens Next
Once your signed application and deposit are received, you will be enrolled in JDV’s applicant waitlist. No immediate consultation is required to complete enrollment. Angie will review your application and retain the information for individualized matching. Applicants will be contacted as litter availability develops, after puppies are born, and again as temperament, structure, drive, and developmental evaluations make meaningful placement discussions possible. A separate Bill of Sale and final placement agreement will govern the individual puppy ultimately placed.

I understand that my $200 deposit is non-refundable upon voluntary withdrawal, is credited toward the $3,500 purchase price, and enrolls me in JDV’s applicant waitlist. It does not guarantee a particular puppy, litter, sex, color, placement date, timeframe, or position based on order of deposit.
