VANGUARD COACHING GROUP
Consent & Commitments
1. The Vanguard Coaching Group is an online coaching program and is not a “drop-in” group. If a student will miss a session because of sports, camp, travel, or another commitment, he is expected to notify the facilitator in advance.
2. Students are encouraged to share honestly and personally but will never be forced to do so. Each student may choose what to share based on his own comfort level.
3. Students understand that group sessions will include direct and respectful discussion and education about sexuality, pornography, sexual behavior, relationships, and related sensitive topics.
4. Students are expected to participate actively in the program, complete assigned work outside of group, and use the Vanguard Brotherhood workbook. Participation is voluntary; however, students who consistently choose not to participate or whose behavior interferes with another student’s progress may be removed from the group.
5.Students are expected to purchase and bring their workbook to each session and come prepared with completed assignments, questions, concerns, or personal challenges they would like to discuss.
6. Students agree to protect the confidentiality and privacy of other group members. Identifying information, personal stories, or details shared in group may not be shared outside the group, including with parents, family members, friends, or on social media. Students are also expected to use appropriate caution when communicating by text, email, or other electronic means. Failure to follow confidentiality expectations may result in removal from the program.
7. Students are expected to use a headset, AirPods, or a similar device during online group sessions to help protect the privacy and confidentiality of everyone participating.
8. Students understand that the facilitator may use text messaging, WhatsApp, or similar methods to communicate with participants. Students may also communicate with one another outside of group through text messages, phone calls, or other appropriate means.
9. Students understand that participation is voluntary and that consent may be withdrawn at any time by providing written notice. Continued participation is dependent upon following the expectations outlined in this agreement.
10. Students understand that confidentiality has limits. If a student discloses abuse, indicates that he is abusing another person, or presents a serious risk of harming himself or someone else, the facilitator may be legally or ethically required to report the information to the appropriate person or authority.
11. Students agree not to engage in sexual contact, sexual solicitation, sexually inappropriate behavior, or sexually inappropriate discussion with other group members. Students also agree not to share graphic or explicit material or information in ways that could negatively affect another student’s progress. Violations of this expectation will result in immediate removal from the group.
12. Students understand that meaningful progress requires consistent personal effort. The facilitator can provide education, guidance, support, and opportunities for greater self-awareness, but cannot make changes on a student’s behalf. Results will vary, and participation in the program does not guarantee a specific outcome.
13. Students understand that the Vanguard Coaching Group is designed to be consistent with Biblical teaching. Group discussions may occasionally include Biblical principles related to the topics being addressed, and students may be encouraged to seek additional spiritual support from trusted religious leaders.
