NEW CLASS
Starting September 6, 2026
4:00-5:00pm "TANGO FOR BEGINNERS"
SUNDAYS: September 6, 13, 20, 27.
MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THE 4 CLASS SESSION:
4 Classes single $80
4 Classes in couple $150
Perfect for total beginners, beginners who want to **level up** their tango, or anyone who would like to learn or review the fundamentals in a **4-class series**.
**Pre-registration is required** to ensure a balanced leader/follower ratio and a minimum class size, creating the best learning experience for everyone.
Description:
Learn the fundamentals, basic moves, organization of the dance, connection, navigation strategies for dancing.
Ideal for absolute beginners, people who need to review fundamentals, or dances from another genre who want to learn Tango quickly.
You will have a lot of practice and individual corrections.
Program
*Fundamentals: posture, embrace, feet positions, basic musicality
*The Five connections approach.
*Basic elements of Tango (leading and following).
*Dance composition strategies.
*Navigation strategies.
*Movements: ocho cortado and ocho atras, parada sandwich and resolution
*Dance etiquette
*Be creative and improvise
Who can take this course?
*People who like the challenge about learning something new and sophisticated
*People who already dance other dances and want to immerse quickly into *Argentine Tango (salsa, ballroom, bachata, ballet, modern dance, etc..)
*People who have self body awareness through other activities such as sports, acting, yoga, etc. and want to experience a partnering discipline
*Beginners who want to review all the basic
What happens when you finish?
*You acquire the knowledge to become a social tango dancer, and attend with more confidence to the regular group classes. You just need to continue practicing A LOT!
Requirements
*No partner needed, No tango experience required
*All gender is welcome to lead or follow
*Bring comfortable shoes and clothes. Not sure about shoes? Bring a pair of socks
TEACHER: Laura Grandi. Laura is an Argentine tango dancer, scholar, and teacher. Over the years, Laura has trained with the most recognized tango masters in Buenos Aires. She has been invited to teach workshops at international festivals, was selected to study at "Espacio Nacional Tango Argentino" run by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina, has a diploma in Tango issued by the University of Buenos Aires, and studied choreography, composition and dance theater at the IUNA (Universitary Institute of Art). Also, she is certified in Pilates Mat and Reformer.
Her passion and love for dance has enabled her to promote, perform and teach Argentine tango and culture in cities, dance schools, and festivals across Latin America, North America and Europe

Guillermo Merlo and Laura Grandi will continue to teach both Tango Classes in our Wednesday Tango Break. They are the only couple teaching in the community so you can experince and learn exactly how each step for both leaders and followers are properly done!

WEDNESDAYS: 7-8pm Beginners Tango
Discover the joy of Argentine Tango in this beginner-friendly class! No experience or partner needed—just bring your enthusiasm. Learn the basic steps, connection techniques, and the magic of improvisation in a supportive and fun environment. Perfect for newcomers to tango or dance in general

Take your tango to the next level in this Intermediate+ class! Designed for dancers with a solid foundation, we’ll refine technique, explore complex patterns, and enhance musicality and connection.
Perfect for those looking to deepen their skills and challenge their creativity on the dance floor.

Weekly Guest DJs
FREE IF YOU TAKE EITHER THE BEGINNER OR INTERMEDIATE CLASS
This is our weekly social dance for everyone! After you are done with your class, stay and practice, dance with not only with people in your class, but with others that join after 9pm.
You can be a beginner or an experienced dancer, a follower or leader. Everyone is welcome.
We will have weekly DJs and at times, celebrations for various occasions.
