The Youth Concerto Competition is open to all pre-college instrumental students who live in Knox, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Sevier, Blount, Loudon, Roane, or Anderson counties, or are current members of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Ensembles. Previous winners are not eligible to compete in consecutive years.
This competition is limited to one movement of a solo work with orchestral accompaniment. The orchestral accompaniment parts must be readily available by purchase or rental.
Applicants are required to have their own accompanist for the recording and for the live finalist audition round if selected.
Preliminary Round Recordings must be received by Friday, November 6, 2026.
ONLY AUDIO RECORDINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Recorded media accepted includes: iTunes and Windows programs that produce mp3 and mp4 formats.
