2026 Deck the Walls Application Form

Carbondale Arts' annual "Deck the Walls" holiday market is coming up November 13 through December 24 this year, open almost every single day for its 5.5-week-run and featuring over 60 creatives. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 21 by 11:59pm. We look forward to another successful year supporting local and regional artisans. Thanks for helping us spread the word! About Deck the Walls

Every holiday season, Carbondale Arts transforms its gallery space into a shop filled with artisan goods created by local and regional artists from all over the Roaring Fork Valley and the state of Colorado. Goods typically include handmade candles and cards, jewelry and chocolates, ceramics and soaps and more! Carbondale Arts is cultivating a vibrant collective of local and regional artists, designers, and hand-makers for each year’s Deck the Walls. We strive to help small businesses grow and to encourage community to engage and connect with the artisans while supporting our local economy during the holidays.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
**NEW THIS YEAR**
• Current members of Carbondale Arts pay no application fee (email brian@carbondalearts.com to get a coupon code)
• Non-members of Carbondale Arts pay a nonrefundable $30 application fee
• All accepted vendors work two 4-hour shifts during the event. (If you cannot volunteer, commission increases from 30% to 40%.)
• Clearly label each item and submit a detailed inventory list upon delivery.
(Inventory sheet instructions will be available on a separate document once accepted)
• Deliver or ship wares Nov 4–6 (must arrive by Nov 6).
• Provide a bio (max 100 words) and headshot by Nov 6.
• Pick up unsold items Jan 4-5, 2027.

IMPORTANT DATES
• Sept 21 (Mon) – Application due (by 11:59 pm)
• Sept 25 (Fri) – Acceptance notifications sent
• Nov 4–6 (Wed–Fri) – Deliver wares & inventory sheet due (by appointment, 10 am–5 pm)
• Nov 6 (Fri) – Bio & headshot due
• Nov 13 (Fri) – Members-only Opening Day (time TBD, probably 4-7pm)
• Dec 24 (Thurs) – Last day of Deck the Walls (closing at 2pm)
• Jan 4-5, 2026 (Mon–Tue) – Pickup of unsold wares

DELIVERY & SHIPPING
• Deliver wares in person Nov 4-6, 10am–5pm (by appointment).
• Ship items to arrive no later than Nov 6 to:

• Label all items and include the completed inventory sheet (sent upon acceptance).

WORK SHIFTS
• Two 4-hour shifts are required; duties include restocking, sales processing, and simple packaging.
• Shifts assigned on a first-come, first-choice basis (Nov 13–Dec 24).

COMMISSION & SALES
• 30% commission on all sales (40% if not volunteering).
• Commissions fund arts education and community arts programming.
• Our 2025 top 7 vendors earned $6,000+ during the 6 week event.

DISPLAY
• All items must remain for the full 6-week event.
• Carbondale Arts determines final display arrangement.
• Gallery pedestals/shelving provided. Bring specialty display items if needed (e.g., jewelry props); space for wall art is limited.
• Holiday market aesthetic—expect mixed displays rather than grouped work.
• Special display requests considered but not guaranteed.

DECK THE WALLS HOURS
Mon–Fri: 10 am–5 pm
Sat & Sun: 11 am–4 pm (Sundays in December only)

Holiday Closures
Nov 25–26: Closed for Thanksgiving
Dec 24: Closes at 2 pm (final day of market)

PICK-UP PROCEDURE
• Jan 4-5, 2027 (10am – 4pm each day).
• Late pickups may incur fees due to limited storage.
• Artists cover return shipping costs.

VENDOR WARE INFO
Provide a detailed physical description of your wares. Include specific PRICE POINTS (or an estimated range of price points).
Your application will NOT be complete until you have uploaded or emailed brian@carbondalearts.com with at least 5 high resolution digital images of your wares for jury review.
