Join us for the second level of our group guitar class this fall!
For the 102 class (open to students who have completed Group Guitar for Absolute Beginners), we will be covering :
- Minor open chords
- 7th open chords
- Barre chords
- Note reading
- Different rhythms such as the 8th note, 16th note, and introducing syncopation
- Closed position Two Octaves for major scales
If your student has not joined us for a group guitar class before but you think they may be eligible for Group Guitar 102 instead of Group Guitar 101, here are the prerequisites for this class:
- The student should know the names of the open strings, what frets are, and how to fret a note.
- The student should know how to sit with the guitar and be able to play and understand the basics of open chords (often referred to as CAGED chords).
- The student should understand quarter, half, and whole note rhythms and rests, and be able to play single notes (either as part of a melody, riff, or scale).
- The student should be able to pick individual notes with either their thumb or a pick.
Students must meet ALL of the above criteria to join Group Guitar 102.
This class is first come, first served.
