AUXLAMS (Auxiliary Leadership & Management School)

AUXLAMS is designed to prepare Auxiliarists for current and future leadership roles in the organziation. The course focuses on strategic thinking, organizational leadership, effective communication, ethics, and management skills necessary to lead units, support our missions, and strengthen the Auxiliary at the district and national levels. Completion is one of the optional requisites for elected leadership.
Prerequisite: Leadership Competency Level 1
A Pre-DTRAIN Zoom Call will be scheduled with all participants for orientation.
Post-requisites: Additional ~6 hours Zoom post-DTRAIN
L965: All Hazard Resource Unit Leader (RESL) Course
Friday AM - Sunday Noon
This course provides an overview of Resource Unit Leader (RESL) responsibilities, the Planning Section, and the planning process to contextualize the Resources Unit for participants unfamiliar with the planning process or the Incident Command System. It then explores specific Resources Unit Leader functions and responsibilities including resource tracking systems, operational planning, and resource products/outputs. The Status/Check-in and Demobilization functions are also covered. This course is an instructor-led training that supports learning through discussion, lecture, and active participation in multiple exercises that provides a realistic, scenario-driven approach to mastering the skills required of an RESL. This course meets USCG PQS requirements.
Prerequisites: ICS Activation & Deployment PQS preferred but not required.

Learning How to Use Auxdata

Open to all experience levels. Start with basics of learning how to login. From there learning how to check personal records, add activity logs with correct codes. Last learn how to run reports.
Supplies: Participants should bring Notebook for Notes and laptop to login to AuxDataII.
AUXNAV/AUXACN: Auxiliary Coastal Navigation Course
Saturday - Sunday AM
AUXACN, the Auxiliary Navigation Specialty course, prepares a member to become a genuine asset to the Flotilla's operations activities. The AUXACN course covers coastal navigation and embraces two basic concepts - location and direction - and three basic disciplines - dead reckoning, piloting and electronic navigation. You can achieve success as an AUXACN Specialist by passing a two part closed book, proctored examination with a score of 75% or better. The first half, Part A, covers the theory; the second half, Part B, requires actual chart work to demonstrate a firm grasp of the material. Credit counts towards AUXOP device.
Post-requisites: Additional study sessions for successful competion of testing.
Supplies: Information on supplies will be provided prior to DTRAIN to participants.
AUX-20: Introduction to Auxiliary Public Affairs
Saturday All Day
Participants will work toward completing this required course for certification as an Auxiliary public affairs (PA) officer.
Recommended Prerequisites: ICS 100
Boat Crew Section II / First Aid Certification
Saturday
Participants will complete the American Heart Association First Aid Course, which covers all PQS for Section II of Boat Crew Training.
Supplies: Participants who wish to take the course for their American Heart Association First Aid Card should bring $20.00 (cash).
