Welcome back, Loyola Lions!

New Family Orientation - Monday, August 10, 6:30-7:30 PM: New families are invited to learn about Loyola's various programs, services, and activities.  Both adults and kids are welcome! 

First Day of School and Welcome Breakfast - Wednesday, August 12, 8:30-9:30 AM: The PTA will host a Welcome Breakfast in the Multi-Purpose Room where parents can learn about school programs, sign up for after-school activities, and seek opportunities to volunteer in and out of the classroom and at school events.  Come grab a bite to eat and meet the Loyola community! 

Back-to-School Picnic - Friday, August 14, 5:00-7:00 PM: Start your school year off with a fun back-to-school picnic! Families will have a blast meeting teachers, reuniting with friends and building new relationships! Bring a blanket/chairs, pack a picnic dinner and/or purchase food from one of the food trucks we'll have on campus.

LASD Welcome Back Social - Saturday, August 15, 5:30-7:00 PM: You’re invited to join families from schools across the district to celebrate the kick-off of a new school year on Saturday, August 15th, 5:30-7:00 PM at Almond Elementary.  Purchase food from food trucks and Kona Ice or bring a picnic dinner.  Kids can enjoy the playground and join field games.

Back-to-School Night - Tuesday, August 25, 6:00-7:30 PM: Hear about all the exciting things your little lions will be doing this school year from the principal and our teachers. This is an adult only event.

Parents' Night Out - Tuesday, August 25, 7:00-9:00 PM: Babysitters have already been booked, so make the most out of your night! Come to Redwood Grill in the Rancho Shopping Center immediately following Back-to-School night to socialize with other parents.  Light appetizers will be provided by the Loyola PTA.

First PTA Meeting of the Year - Friday, September 18, 8:45 AM: Our first association meeting of the year will be held immediately following Friday assembly.  We’ll approve the 2026-27 budget, review the change in our district's fund allocation and fundraising goals, see how your generous donations are used, and learn about this year’s activities and opportunities to get involved!

Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) and the Loyola PTA collaborate closely to fund the following programs at Loyola:

Providing an exceptional education for our students requires support beyond public funding. LAEF and our PTAs have long shared the work of raising those funds. 

This year, fundraising responsibility for instructional programs and materials is shifting to LAEF, expanding its role while reducing the financial responsibility of each school's PTA to raise funds. As a result, we encourage families to prioritize LAEF for financial donations and volunteer your time and talents to the Loyola PTA.  Loyola will not be asking for a separate monetary donation this fall.  If you have already donated to LAEF and wish to give an additional amount to Loyola, please check the Loyola PTA website for details.

Step 2: Join the Loyola PTA on the next page and sign up to volunteer!

The Loyola PTA is a volunteer organization that helps organize and/or fund these special programs at Loyola:

• Teacher and Principal discretionary funds
• Teacher and Staff Appreciation
• School assemblies and field trips
• Kinder and TK summer playdates, New Family Orientation
• Advisory committees such as English Learner Advisory Committe (ELAC), Safety and Emergency Preparedness Team
• Drama (spring musical)
• Yoga
• Community and social activities such as Back-to-School Picnic, Walk and Roll to School, Multicultural Fair, Trunk-or-Treat, Ice Skating Night, Ice Cream Social, Parents' Nights Out 
• Fundraisers such as Walkathon, Book Fair, Buy-A-Brick, and Live/Silent Auction
• District wide events like LASD Community Picnic, LASD Art Showcase, LASD Spelling Bee, LASD Read-A-Thon, LASD Illuminate Fair and LASD Junior Olympics
• The Spirit Wear Store
• PTA website and social media accounts

PTA membership allows you to vote at PTA meetings. Our first meeting will be on September 18th at 8:45 AM (right after Friday assembly), during which we'll review and approve the 2026-27 budget.  Joining the PTA gives you the power to influence decisions made at our school for your children! 

Volunteers of all skills and levels are needed for our PTA to be successful. You can help by sharing your talents, providing your expertise, extending your passion, or giving a little time. Your contribution, big or small, goes a long way towards creating an exceptional experience for our children.

We understand that parents need to work.  We are all busy and our to-do lists for work and home are long.  However, volunteering does not only occur during school/ business hours.  Most of our community-building events occur in the evenings or on the weekends.  If you're going to attend the event with your kids anyway, why not sign up to pass out some pizza while you're there?

Please take a look at the events and programs below and check any boxes that interest you and that you would like more information about.  Checking a box does not commit you to volunteering on the committee for the school year.  Don't worry if you don't have any experience as there are lead parent volunteers and school district leads in charge of each program/event who will act as your guide, explain how you can help, and train you as necessary!

Please list the names of all family members who may participate in any Loyola PTA sponsored events during the 2026-2027 school year (include students, siblings who do not attend Loyola, and parents/guardians).

I attest and verify that all individuals listed above are physically fit and able to participate in any PTA sponsored activities. Further I acknowledge that is it my responsibility to understand any inherent risks associated with PTA sponsored activities and communicate those risks to all individuals named above.

I do hereby certify that to the best of my knowledge and belief all individuals named above are in good health.

In the event that I, or other parent/guardian, cannot be reached in an emergency, I hereby give permission to secure proper treatment for my child(ren). I do hereby consent to whatever x-ray, examination, anesthetic, medical, surgical or dental diagnosis or treatment and hospital care are considered necessary in the best judgment of the attending physician, surgeon or dentist and performed by or under the supervision of the medical staff of the hospital or facility furnishing medical or dental services. It is further understood that the undersigned will assume full responsibility for any such action, including payment of costs.

I, as parent or guardian of the minor(s), do hereby, for my child/children, myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, release and forever discharge and hold harmless the California State PTA, the local PTA and all officers, directors, employees, agents and volunteers of the organizations, acting officially or otherwise, from any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action which in any way arise from the participation of any individuals listed above in any PTA sponsored activities.
