Registration for Confirmation at St. Dominic in spring 2027 is now open.

Any parishinor beginning their Junior year of high school in August, 2026 and wishes to recieve the Sacrament of Confirmation should fill out this registration form.

Confirmation preparation will consist of 6 classes (approximately once per month from September-March), an overnight retreat, completion of at least 6 service hours, and a reflection on a chosen Saint. Please note - the classes will be spread out through the fall and spring semesters. This is different than in past years when all classes were held in the spring!

All registered candidates will receive a full information packet with more information including class dates/times, service hour requirements, and retreat options in August. All registered candidates may begin working on their service hour requirement as soon as they are registered.

If your church of Baptism (including St. Dominic) was flooded in Hurricane Katrina in 2005, you may have to contact the Archives Office of the Archidiocese of New Orleans.

Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit - his actions, his gifts, and his biddings - in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community.

To accomplish this goal, the period of sacramental preparation will include
- Twelve to fourteen (12-14) hours of parish based sacramental catechesis
- Candidate Interview
- Apostolic hours (service hours)
- A parish based retreat
- Regular Mass attendance
Specific dates and times for the Confirmation Formation Sessions as well as the retreats for St. Dominic will be published in August.

Confirmation Program Fee

This program fee covers one retreat, class materials, and liturgy supplies. Installments and/or scholarships are available. Nobody will be denied the sacrament due to financial constraints. Please contact Courtney to make arrangements if needed.
