ENTRY FORM - 5TH ANNUAL MINI GEMS

The Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) is happy to announce our 5th Annual Mini Gems Open Call. It's time to prepare your miniature prints so you can send in your entry form by the deadline: October 3.

SAGA's Mini Gems is a national, juried miniature print exhibition held in our gallery in Union Square NYC since 2022. This year we will show 200 mini prints on Saturdays from December 5, 2026 - January 9, 2027, giving $1000 in awards. This is an open call to all print artists across the country: tell your printmaker friends to apply to Mini Gems!

Eligibility

• This juried exhibition is open to all artists residing and working in the USA
• All work invited to the 5th Annual Mini Gems is eligible for awards
• Original works in all printmaking media are eligibile. Photographs, offset reproductions, or reproductions of work originally produced in another medium will not be considered. Prints must utilize a form of traditional hand-printed media as their primary technique but may include digital output elements within the greater work. 
• SAGA members are guaranteed at least one work in the show (selected by the juror)

Requirements

• Submit up to two (2) original, hand-pulled prints
• Paper size: 8" x 8" 
• Image size: 4" x 4" or smaller
• If your image is full bleed or larger than 5" x 5", we will still mount it to our 5"x 5" window mat (see image below)
• SAGA reserves the right to trim paper that exceeds 8" x 8"
• Prints must be original and handmade, titled, numbered, and signed
• Monotypes, monoprints, and 1/1 are eligible
• Prints exhibited in the past three Mini Gems will not be considered

 

 

Shipping and in-person drop-off

We will notify all artists via email by October 19 regarding invited print(s) and we'll include instructions for shipping/in-person drop-off. Please DO NOT send your print(s) before you are notified.

Sales

• SAGA retains a 35% commission on all works sold
• SAGA will share the artist's contact information with buyers upon request, in case buyers are interested in purchasing a print from the edition of sold work.
• Payments for sold prints will be sent in January 2027

Important Dates

• Deadline to submit entry form: October 3
• Notification of jurying results: October 19
• Shipment of prints: must be received between October 26 - November 2
• In-person drop-off: October 26 - November 2
• Opening Reception and Awards: Saturday, December 5 from 2pm-5pm
• End of show: Saturday, January 9, 2027
• Return of prints: February 2027

 

Terms and conditions

Every precaution will be taken in handling the prints. SAGA will assume responsibility for those works chosen for the exhibition from the time they are delivered to our gallery until they are picked up by the artist or shipper. Artists may insure their work while in transit to the exhibition. SAGA assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to submitted or accepted works during shipping. Accepted work that differs significantly from the submitted image(s) or suffers from poor presentation will be disqualified.
