  • Hi. My name is Kayla Loeffler and I have a small business named Savor the Occasion where I make pickles, jams & jellies, pasta sauce, salsa, and so much more!

    I've thought about having classes and showing others how to preserve fruits and veggies for themselves and I'm finally doing it!

    It will be 4 part series.

    • The first class will show you how to pickle veggies like cucumbers, jalapenos and onions. We will make dill and spicy pickles plus pickled onions and pickled jalapenos. 

    • The 2nd class will be jams & jellies. We will making the all time favorite Strawberry jam and also a Triple Berry Jam too. 

    • The 3rd class will be all about tomatoes and what you can do with them. I'll show you exactly how I prepare my amazing pasta sauce that we all love!

    • And the 4th class will be on ways you can reduce your waste. 
      Strawberry tops can make a great syrup. Tomato skins, onion peels and garlic peels can all be dehydrated for powders.

     

    THE BEST PART, at the end of each class, you will have jars that you have personally canned in the class, you can pick up your stuff the next day or we can schedule a delivery for you.

     

    Each class will be $25 per person, per class.

              Learn how to turn fresh cucumbers into spicy and dill pickles using water bath canning. Also learn how to pickle other vegetables like jalapenos & onions.

              Discover techniques for making jams and jellies with seasonal fruit. We will be making strawberry jam and triple berry jam.

              Hands-on class for canning tomatoes and making pasta sauce. Roasting, pureeing

              Waste Reduction & Using What You Have September 26th @ noon

              Creative ways to reduce kitchen waste and preserve more using what you have. This class will show you ways to use what you normally trash. Like strawberry tops, tomato skins, garlic and onion peels.
