  • BSME (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering). Professional aerospace engineer specifically in the areas for research and development of high speed, air breathing aircraft, hybrids, and rockets. Extended studies and certifications for 3-D modeling, CAD/CAM; lab and proof of concepts, testing facilities, and manufacturing.

  • 11 (5th Grade) – 14 (8th Grade)
  • PREREQUISITES

  • This is a partner-based, project-focused class. Students should be able to work cooperatively with a teammate, communicate respectfully, follow multi-step directions, and maintain focus on long-term projects. While students will receive breaks throughout class, they should be able to return to their project, collaborate with their partner, and remain engaged on the task at hand.
  • COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • The student will learn in the first semester the basics in engineering, design, and construction of flyable aircraft. Projects will provide the student with the practical knowledge to design and build a scaled airplane through classroom construction using simple materials, easy construction techniques, and basic 3D modeling and printing as needed.
  • A second semester will provide the student with more advanced, sophisticated design, modeling, printing, and assembly knowledge while learning and employing project teamwork and testing with more hands-on opportunities.

  • Incorporating STEM naturally and practically, thus helping to reduce the fear of math and engineering.

  • Administrative Fee: $65 (paid to Rooted Resource Center)
    Course Fee: $500 (paid to instructor for the full year)
    Supply Fee: $50 (paid to instructor for class supplies *ADDITIONAL SUPPLY FEES WILL BE REQUIRED SECOND SEMESTER)

  • PAYMENT

  • This course is a full-year commitment. Families may choose to pay the tuition in full or divide the cost into two semester payments.

    Regardless of the payment option selected, enrollment is for the full academic year. If you choose not to return for the second semester, you remain financially responsible for the full-year tuition, as your student's spot has been reserved for the entire school year.
