  • BSME (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering). Professional aerospace engineer specifically in the areas for research and development of high speed, air breathing aircraft, hybrids, and rockets. Extended studies and certifications for 3-D modeling, CAD/CAM; lab and proof of concepts, testing facilities, and manufacturing.

  • PREREQUISITES

  • This is a partner-based, project-focused class. Students should be able to work cooperatively with a teammate, communicate respectfully, follow multi-step directions, and maintain focus on long-term projects.

  • COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • The basics of how internal combustion works from small single piston cylinder gas engines to vehicle multi cylinder, V8's, aircraft engines including radial, inline, jet, ramjets, and scramjets; to rocket engines and hybrids. There will be hands-on examples and model demonstrations throughout.

  • STUDENT OUTCOME

  • Expectations will be achieved when the student will have simple and logical answers to basic mysteries of physics and engineering, the way things work, and a significant reduction in fear of basic machine design and foundational math and science.
