Registration Fee: $25.00 for RETURNING players (played during spring season) and $40.00 for NEW players (8U-14U). Registration fees can be paid by cash, check, or credit card. A convenience fee will be added to credit card payments.

Registration Fundraiser: We will be selling 9" Mums from Smuckers Gardens to help offset registration fees. Order forms and money are due no later than Friday, September 4.

A 9" mum will be sold for $11 each, with $2.50 from each plant sold going towards a player's registration fee. Any registration fee that is not covered by the fundraiser is to be paid by the player's family.

For example: A player sells 10 items (profit is $2.50/item * 10 items = $25.00), therefore the registration fee would be paid in full. If the player sold 5 items (profit is $2.50/item * 5 items = $12.50) then the player's family is responsible for the remaining $12.50 ($25 registration - $12.50 fundraiser profit = $12.50 not covered by the fundraiser).

Concession Stand Check: There will be a $75 concession stand check due this season. This check will be held (not deposited). Parents must sign up to work a shift in the concession stand for each child they have in the league in order to have this check returned. At the end of the concession stand shift(s), a refund check will be given to the parent. The concession stand is scheduled to be opened during ALL home games. Another family member or friend may serve as your delegate. In the case of a delegate, the check will be returned to the person who paid it. Children under 10 years old are NOT permitted in the concession stand. If a concession shift for each child has not been completed then the concession stand check will be deposited as a donation to HGSL.

In order for our program to function properly, we need the help of each and every parent/guardian. Our field maintenance takes a huge amount of work by many people. Our concession stand helps feed many families on tight schedules throughout the season and supplements our league's income. A signup genius will be sent out for parents to sign up via email once game schedules have been determined.

Please Note: The Halifax Girls Softball League (HGSL) provides accidental injury coverage. This is EXCESS insurance and only comes into play after you have utilized your personal/group medical insurance or any health benefit plan, first. If you have no other applicable insurance, this policy will pay on a primary basis.

Code of Conduct

All participants/parents are expected to show respect for the property of others.
Participants/parents are expected to behave in a polite, responsible manner respecting the rights and feeling of others.
The possession and/or use of weapons, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs, or remaining in the presence of individuals who are using or taking these items is prohibited.
The practice/game fields are tobacco-free areas. The designated area for smoking will be confined to the road/across the street, off of the property used by HGSL.
Any behavior that violates any of the laws of the United States or any state or local ordinances is prohibited.
Appropriate behavior is expected of every participant and parent at ALL times.
Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times.
No fighting, physical abuse, verbal abuse, or profanity will be permitted. Any damage to property is the responsibility of the participant/parent.
All participants must fill out a medical release form before they are considered eligible for participation.
Report any accident, problems or illnesses immediately to your coach or an authorized representative.
Parents will be responsible for transporting the participant to practices/games.
Participation in all play-off games is expected of all participants unless communicated by parent to the head coach ahead of time.
Participants will respect and respond to any coach or authorized representative’s directions. The coaches or authorized representative can use their judgment to determine if the participant's behavior is appropriate or not and take action accordingly.
The youth, not the coach or authorized representative, is responsible for valuables.
Participant/parent will be required to check in with the coach or authorized representative at times stated by the schedule.
It is the parent’s responsibility to be aware of their child(ren)’s practice schedule and make arrangements to drop off/pick up their child(ren) at the appropriate time.
Parents are not permitted on the fields or the areas surrounding the fields during practice.
Children not participating must be supervised at all times.
