Scent Work & Water Retrieval Event

What is this event all about?

Fetch. Sniff. Swim. Search. Retrieve.

This enrichment event is designed for dogs who love using their nose, love chasing toys/balls, and who either already love swimming or need a confidence boost around water.

NOTE: they don't need to consistently retrieve in order to gain a lot from this class - if they chase the toy or ball, that's plenty of drive to get started.

We’ll introduce structured scent work enrichment as well as beginner water retrieval skills to help your dog build focus, confidence, and teamwork with you.

If your dog is a seasoned water retrieval veteran, we'll also have more advanced challenges ready for you.

Perfect for dogs who love fetch, dogs who love to sniff, and dogs who think swimming might be suspicious business (or those who already love the water!).

No experience with these skills are needed. Just bring your dog’s curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a handler ready to build something fun together.

 

This event is open to the public, space is limited, and registration is required.

 

WHO: You! If you're unsure if your dog is a good fit, please feel free to contact us first.

WHAT: Your dog will practice using their natural drives—sniffing, hunting, chasing, retrieving, and exploring—while you learn how to direct that energy with calm, clear leadership.

WHERE: Cottage Grove, OR

WHEN: Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 8am to 12pm

WHY: Our dogs do a lot of "human stuff" for us, and this is an amazing opportunity to learn how to do the stuff your dog actually loves, with your dog. This kind of work usually deepens and improves your relationship with your dog, which leads to better obedience, better behavior and a better overall pack dynamic.

Terms: By registering for Pawsitive Influence Dog Training's Scent Work and Water Retrieval event, you (Client) understand that it secures your spot in an event with limited space. No refunds are offered for this event.

In the event of a Client emergency, the Pawsitive Influence training team may, at their discretion, allow Client to apply partial or full credit toward enrollment in a future event. Client understands that all training services are good for six months from commencement of services, and any services not used within the six-month period will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to other people or dogs, or used for other services. Payment for an event cannot be used for private lessons, drop-in group classes, pack walks, or training seminars, and vice-versa.

In the event of a cancellation due to trainer emergency, weather event, or air quality concern, Pawsitive Influence will reschedule the cancelled event at their earliest availability. If Client is not able to attend the rescheduled date, no refunds will be given. However, at their discretion, the Pawsitive Influence training team may allow Client to apply partial or full credit toward enrollment in a future event.
