A Rare Opportunity to Learn and Present the Timeless Sri Vaishnavite Compositions of Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar
Join an imersive musical journey into the divine world of Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar (1775–1835), through this special workshop series. It will focus on a carefully curated selection of rare Vaishnava Sampradaya Krithis, offering participants an opportunity to learn, understand, and perform these musical treasures under the guidance of distinguished Carnatic music gurus from Maryland and Virginia.
Why This Workshop?
Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar’s compositions are revered for their profound Sanskrit sahitya, majestic raga architecture, and deep spiritual insight. Many of his Vaishnava Krithis remain underrepresented on today’s concert stage. This workshop aims to revive, preserve, and celebrate these rare gems while inspiring the next generation of Carnatic musicians.
Workshop Highlights
1. Learn rare and lesser-heard Vaishnava Krithis of Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar
2. Understand the lyrical, musical, and spiritual significance of each composition
3. Explore the rich traditions of Dikshithar’s compositional style and receive direct guidance on diction, bhava, raga nuances, and concert presentation by our renowned Gurus.
4. Culminate the workshop with a grand Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar Tribute Performance led by the Gurus and sing along opportunities on Nov-14th.

Opportunity to perform along in the Tribute Concert
Participants will present the learned compositions in a special ensemble performance honoring the musical genius and spiritual legacy of Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar.
