    The 7th Annual READY TO HANG 2026 Art Show

    There is one submission per artist.
    Ready to Hang is a community-wide art show that brings together artists of all stripes for an art sale and party, building our creative community. 70% of sales go to the artist, 30% go to support the work of the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative. More about the SBAC at sbartscollaborative.org. 

    All pieces must be exactly 12"x12" inches SQUARE in size, either with a frame or without. No larger, no smaller. The distance from the wall can be up to 5". Framed pieces should not use glass and all pieces must have a wire hanger and be ready to hang upon drop-off. All pieces must be ready to hang. That can be a gallery wire or sawtooth hanger. "Ready to hang" means each piece should sit flush to the wall and not require adjustments by the show crew beyond placing the piece on a nail.

    All artists participating must live/work the Santa Barbara or Ventura area.

  • Artwork Display Card Information

    The display card will print EXACTLY as you enter below, down to upper and lower case, spelling, etc, so put it in the way you want it.

  • Display Card NOTE

    All print reproductions (such as giclee), must be stated in the "Medium" section. All works created with or with the assistance of AI software created works, must state so in "Artist" section. Failure to do either may result in being excluded from this and future shows with the Arts Collaborative.

  • Liability Waiver

    By clicking "I Agree" below you indicate the following: "It is my intention to exhibit my artwork under the auspices of the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative, at the Community Arts Workshop. I release the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative, the City of Santa Barbara, their members, their officers, and their representatives, from any liability for loss, theft, or damage to any piece of artwork or frame, or stand, or pedestal, or piece of equipment related to its display that I submit. This agreement is executed and effective on the date I submit this form, and terminates when said work is returned to me. I agree to pick up my work on the date and at the time and place specified by the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative."

I have read all of the instructions on how to submit a piece into Ready to Hang at sbcaw.org/hang/artists, and I am clear on the rules.

    • Artist Party

      There will be an artist artist party on the night of Friday November 21, 6-9pm. All artists who have work in the show are welcome to attend the party! Due to space constraints, artists may only bring ONE guest to the party. One drink ticket per artists and snacks will be provided. All work will be for sale!

      On occasion, artists choose to donate the full proceeds of their sold work to benefit the Community Arts Workshop (the 70% of sales they would ordinarily get). This is completely optional, our intention is for as much money to go to artists as possible! But enough people have asked that we created this option. If you would like to donate the proceeds of their sold work to the CAW, please click the button below. All donations are tax-deductible.

    • Demographic Questions (Optional)

      Collecting demographics helps us to better serve our creative community. The data is anonymized and the summarized data is used to make the case for fiscal support from foundations and donors who feel passionate about supporting the arts. This data also helps us to let the City of Santa Barbara know the importance of this work and helps us to advocate for artists in our community. The questions are not required, and do not need to be answered to complete this survey.

      Answering this question helps our organization to understand the percentage of our constituents whose income is in the "Low to Moderate" income category according to the Housing Authority of Santa Barbara. Answers to this question will be completely anonymized and the data aggregated from it could make this program available for grants that will support our ability to advocate for this initiative. We appreciate that these kinds of questions can feel a bit invasive, but the information will never be used inappropriately. Please check your individual income bracket.
