  • The Hampton Classic requires all professional photographers to apply for an Independent Photographer Pass if they plan to sell OR GIVE their photos to exhibitors.

    An Independent Photographer pass is distinct and separate from a Media credential which is available to photographers on assignment for a recognized and approved media outlet or corporate sponsor. A media credential grants permission for a photographer to shoot photos for use by that media outlet or corporate sponsor ONLY and does not allow sale or any other use of photos taken at the Hampton Classic.
  • ANY infraction of this policy will result in the revoking of the Media or Independent Photographer credential, forfeiture of the Independent Photographer fee, expulsion from the grounds and possible legal action.

  • ** A LIMITED number of Independent Photographer credentials will be granted for the 2026 Hampton Classic **

    It will NOT be possible to approve all submitted applications.
    • Independent Photographer Pass - $1,000 PER PHOTOGRAPHER
      • No discounts for additional photographer(s) with the same company.
      • If more than one photographer is on-site representing one business at any point during the horse show, EACH INDIVIDUAL must purchase a pass.
    • Maximum of five (5) riders per Independent Photographer
      • The number of horses per client is not limited.
      • Each Independent Photographer must submit their application including rider names no later than Monday, July 20th.
      • Applicants will be notified of acceptance by Friday, July 24th.
    • Independent Photographers MAY NOT solicit, substitute or add new clients once this application has been approved.
    • Approvals will be granted based on rider list(s) submitted with application by deadline.
      • Rider lists submitted may be altered until the application deadline (7/20/2026)
      • Applications submitted with no riders listed will not be considered.
    • A $50 non-refundable application processing fee will be collected with this application.
      • Payment in full is required by Friday, August 14th. You will receive a payment link once application has been approved.

    • Credentialed Independent Photographers MUST wear their credential at all times while on horse show property.
    • Credentials are non-transferable.
    • Independent Photographers MAY NOT shoot photographs of people that are not on their approved rider list.
      • Exception: Professional riders showing a horse for a junior/amateur rider on your approved list.
    • There are limited locations for shooting classes in the Grand Prix Ring. Independent Photographers will be allowed to shoot from:
      • The grandstand seating
      • The Media Center
      • One designated chalet each day. Which chalet is available each day is likely to change from day to day, and will be based on which chalets are available, not on the course.
      • A new location in the ground level alley in front of the chalets, starting from the tractor entrance (near the Riders Tent) and continuing approximately half-way down toward the Media Center.
      • As was instituted during the horse show last year, photographers will be allowed in the Riders Tent on a rotating basis, starting when their rider is one ride away and continuing for their rider’s ride, and then for one horse after the ride to allow for shooting any post-ride shots in the schooling area.
        • This will mean that there should never be more than 3 photographers in the Riders Tent at any one time. There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on this access. Any violation will lead to revoking the credentials of those involved and forfeiture of their photographer fee.
      • At no time are any photographers allowed near the in-gate or in the schooling area. Photographers may shoot the schooling area from outside the fences (or as described above).
    • Independent Photographers ARE NOT permitted inside the competition arenas except for awards presentations directly involving their approved client.
    • Official Photographer KindMedia LLC has positioning priority.
    • Independent Photographers MAY NOT place remote camera equipment in or alongside any arenas.
    • Independent Photographers MAY NOT conduct portrait sessions on the horse show grounds at any time.
    • Independent Photographers MAY NOT have a trailer, vendor booth, or any advertisement anywhere on the Hampton Classic property.
    • ALL Independent Photographers MUST submit proof of Accident Liability Insurance with payment prior to arrival.
    • Please note - Dogs are not permitted in the Media Center 
  • By signing below, the approved Independent Photographer agrees that it shall indemnify and hold Hampton Classic Horse Show, Inc. and all its employees, agents, and connections harmless from and against any and all claims for injury, loss of life, or damage to or loss of use of property caused or alleged to be caused, by actions of the Independent Photographer, its employees, and invitees on or about the premises and which arise out of the Independent Photographer's performance, or failure to perform as specified in the Agreement.

    We will not consider applications with incomplete client lists.
