Teen & Miss will compete first in the interview competition. Interview will be the morning of March 20. Contestants will receive their interview time during the Queen’s Tea. Civil War Costume will be the only attire acceptable for interview. During the evening gown competition,Teen and Miss will recite their introduction. Introductions need to include their name,contestant number, a piece of history, and invitation to the 2027 Re-enactment. There will be a mandatory tea for Teen and Miss contestants March 13, 2027.
Awards:Queens will receive a crown, monogrammed banner, flowers, plaque, & tshirt. Teen and Miss Divisions will also receive a plaque for Best Interview. All contestants will receive a small plaque. Teen Miss Queen will receive a $100 scholarship at the successful completion of her reign. Miss Queen will receive a $500 scholarship (check madepayable to the college or trade school of her choice), use of the custom Battle of Pleasant Hill crown, train, mantle, scepter, and formal banner (all to be returned to the BOPH committee),monogrammed banner, flowers, and plaque. The Miss Queen will be required to attend theLouisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Convention and interview competition in Baton Rouge for 2027, where she will receive a paid entry.
Special Awards
People’s Choice: Each ticket will be $1 and be available for purchase before and during thepageant. People’s Choice winner will receive a plaque, crown, goody bag, andBattle of Pleasant Hill t-shirt.
Installing Ceremony of Miss Battle:
The 2027 Miss Battle will be announced at the pageant. She will be officially crowned and beginher reign during the opening ceremonies of the Battle of Pleasant Hill on Sunday, April 18, 2027,
at 1:00 pm.
Rules and General Information
-In addition to the Teen and Miss Queens contractual obligations, all queens and commandants
are expected to participate in events happening throughout the Battle of Pleasant Hill reenactment weekend April 16-18, 2027. Activities include (but may not be limited to) the school day,reenactment, and ball being held on Saturday, April 17 and the reenactment on Sunday, April 17.
All queens and commandants will receive a reenactment weekend itinerary the week following the pageant. Any queen not fulfilling his/her obligations on reenactment weekend will forfeit her title and be deemed ineligible to compete again for 3 years. Any Teen Queen who does not fulfillher contractual duties will be ineligible to compete for the title of Miss Battle of Pleasant Hill.
-Due to limited space in the dressing area, any contestant in divisions Baby-Deb should arrive ready to compete with hair and make-up complete. Only one person per contestant in these divisions will be allowed in the dressing area. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Jr-Miss contestants will be allowed two people-one helper and one for hair and make-up.
-Teen & Miss Contestants will compete the morning of March 20 in interview. Evening gown & Onstage introduction will begin at 10am followed by all age divisions modeling their Civil War Costumes.
-Teen and Miss contestants must attend the mandatory Queen’s Tea on Sunday, March 13, 2027 at 2pm in order to be deemed eligible to compete for their respective title.
-Teen and Miss contestants must be a natural born female and a resident of Louisiana. Teen and Miss Queens will be required to sign a contract after being crowned and cannot hold any titles aside from Teen/Miss Battle of Pleasant Hill.
-Admission to watch the pageant is $5 for adults. Ages 3 and under are no charge.
