Join retiring executive director Tim Boland as he reflects on his tenure at PHA growing both plants and the Polly Hill Arboretum over the last 24 years. Tim arrived in 2002 as PHA’s first curator and assumed the role of executive director in 2004.
Tim will share memories of Arboretum founder Polly Hill and her legacy of horticultural experimentation. With a keen awareness of the spirit of place, as well as the conservation ethos of PHA co-founder Dr. David H. Smith, Tim will reflect on how now, more than ever before, arboreta and botanical gardens are essential to our local, regional, and global communities.
Please join us for this special lecture looking back on a career devoted to bringing plants and people together.
This lecture will take place at the Far Barn. Please park at the Visitor Center.
