When submitting an official application, Little Mister contestants must pay the entrance fee of $100. Contestants must submit the completed application form, fee and photograph at that time. Application deadline: August 1, 2026
A roster of 20 contestants per pageant is expected and a waiting list will be kept. Also, should the roster not be filled by deadline, the deadline will be extended. The judges will be looking for personality, overall appearance, poise, and audience appeal.
Categories for judging will be:
1. Outfit of choice - outfit showcasing your favorite style and last an on-stage interview will also be done with this phase of competition.
2. Formal Attire - we ask for at least a shirt and tie when competing in this phase of competition. Judges will be scoring for overall appearance, modeling and there will be an on-stage question asked for Spontaneity answers.
3. A private Three Minute interview with judges will be scheduled before the pageant.
It is important you read the following list of Rules and Guidelines carefully. Your submission of this form and on entry form will verify that you have read and agreed to abide by these guidelines set forth by the Little Miss and Little Mister committee.
1. The Little Mister division is open statewide.
2. Contestant must be between the ages of 5 and 7 at the time of participation in the pageant.
3. Parent or Guardian must read and sign application and fill out alternate names and phone numbers where they can be reached if not available at home number.
4. A panel of qualified Judges will select the winner, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th runners up. The decision of the judges is FINAL. The number of contestants determines the number of runners-up awards given out. NO scoring sheets or Judges Notes are given out. Noting; therefore, the committee and chairman do not have any influence on the pageant outcome and will never give out names or information of any kind associated with the judging procedure.
5. A Photogenic Award will be presented; This category will be judged by a Professional Photographer and/or judges prior to the pageant and awarded at the end of the pageant.
6. Contestants should be on time from all rehearsals and pageant functions. NO dropping off of contestants is permitted. A parent or guardian must be present at ALL TIMES.
7. Contestants are not excused from rehearsals or pageant activities unless an emergency arises. Please contact the pageant chairman to be excused. Her decision is final.
8. The winner of the Little Miss and Little Mister will be judged on personality, overall appearance, poise, onstage interview, audience appeal and one on one private interview with judges.
9. The Little Miss and Little Mister will make a commitment to serve a Full Year representing the Monongalia County Fair in as many parades and activities as possible while promoting the fair. We will give you notice on upcoming parades, and activities throughout the year to attend. If you want to attend an event, please let the Chairman know of the event. The winner is responsible for signing up themselves for the parades.
10. ONE Parent or Person ONLY will be allowed backstage to help a contestant during pageant. There will be an exit curtain backstage for the one person to exit and watch the pageant then return to help the contestant. NO OTHER PERSON is allowed backstage during pageant night. We are looking out for children’s safety and the valuables that are backstage.
11. Parents or persons of any pageant committee member or fair board member having children eligible to compete in Little Mister/ Little miss events forfeit their eligibility while they are members.
12. Please note that any grievances experienced during the events prior to or during participation are to be submitted in person at the Fair Office at Mylan Park. Confrontation with chairman or any committee members is prohibited at any time and could result in disqualification of contestant.
13. If Chosen as Little Miss or Little Mister Monongalia County, contestant must forfeit any other title he or she may hold. The winners should consult the chairman before entering in another pageant.
14. Once the Application of the contestant is turned in, no changes, etc. will be made to the sheet.
I give my permission for my child to participate in the 2026 Little Miss and/or Little Mister Pageant. If I am chosen as Little Miss Monongalia County or Little Mister Monongalia County, I hereby promise to uphold my title as stated in the rules and regulations. If I do not uphold my title, I agree to turn my title and winnings over to the first runner-up. The first runner-up will then take over my
duties and honors as Little Miss/Mister from that point.
Furthermore, I release the Monongalia County Fair Board, and Chairman of pageant and any assistants from all liability claims due to the loss or damage of property, injury or sickness at any time. I also agree that the judge’s decision is FINAL and there are NO REFUNDS. I also give my permission that any photos taken at the pageant may be used in fair book, website or newspapers.
