The KSYWE aims to provide young musicians in grades 7 through 12 with instrumental training in a challenging and professional environment. The vision of the organization is to create connections through the program for students and their families that inspire a life-long love of music and instill a sense of responsibility for the quality of the arts in their communities.

(For the Fall Semester, placement/seating in the KSYWE will be determined by short video auditions. In December, existing and new members will have the opportunity to audition to participate in an advanced ensemble during the Spring Semester.)

We understand schedules are quite full for many wind players during the fall. Students may choose to defer enrollment to January 2027. Students wishing to defer enrollment MUST audition in December (date & time TBD).

By participating in a Knoxville Symphony Youth Ensemble, I acknowledge that photos and/or videos of the applicant may be taken during auditions, rehearsals, and concerts and used by the KSO for promotional purposes, including but not limited to programs, organizational website, social media, and other public sources in the present and/or future seasons. I, the parent or guardian, understand that if I do not wish for photos or videos of the applicant to be used, I should email education@knoxvillesymphony.com prior to the start of the first rehearsal.

Chamber Music Program

The Knoxville Symphony Youth Ensembles offers a Chamber Music Program (CMP) that provides eligible students with the opportunity to participate in a small ensembles with their peers, learn about and develop skills in rehearsing chamber music, receive regular coaching, and have performance opportunities organized by the KSO's Education Department. Members should be at least 12 years old and have 3 or more years of ensemble experience. CMP rehearses on TUESDAY evenings. ____________________________________________________________________________ For the 2026-2027 season, all new members will submit video auditions for consideration into CMP. If you would like to be considered for CMP, please let us know below. An email containing the CMP application and audition video submission information will be sent in July.
