    *** THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER SURF CAMP!  THIS CAMP IS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN SAFELY AND INDEPENDENDLY PADDLE OUT INTO A CROWDED LINEUP, AND IS TARGETED FOR INTERMEDIATE SURFERS.  At a minimum, you must be able to paddle out to the lineup through breaking waves, while maintaining control of your surfboard at all times, and catch waves totally independently. Beginner surf lessons are not provided at this camp, and instead we are offering next level coaching ***

    🐬 Who: Trans/non-binary/queer independent surfers from advanced beginner to pro. 24 participants.  Check your surf level here.

    📍Location: San Onofre State Beach, San Mateo Campground, Orange County, Southern California

    San Mateo Campground is at 830 Cristianitos, San Clemente, CA, 92672 a short distance inland from the 3.5-miles of sandy beaches within San Onofre State Beach, where waves abound. A 1.5-mile Nature Trail connects the campground to “Trestles Beach,” the world class surfing site. A few miles farther down the road is the infamous break Old Man's, and shortly thereafter is Trails. 

    💲 Cost: Sliding scale $625-$1200. Payment plans available.

    🌊 Surfing: San Onofre beach is home to cobblestone, reef, and sandy beach breaks, offering fun for advanced beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers alike. The waves offer fun for longboarding, midlengths, fishes, and shortboards. Surfers must have their own gear and be independent in the water. This trip will be focused on surf progression, and will include surf talks, coaching, and video review and analysis. You will assigned to an instructor and a cohort of ~4-8 surfers to learn, wipeout and progress with.

    🥑 Food: We will provide 11 healthy plant-based vegetarian meals starting with dinner on Monday; Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; And breakfast and lunch on Friday. Surf conditions depending, we will have one lunch or dinner in town that you will be responsible for paying for. 

    🏕 Accomodations: Tent camping! Bring your own tent and sleeping bag. Public bathrooms. Hot Showers for tokens. We will carpool/caravan to surf spots each day.

    We offer this camp at a sliding scale of $625-$2000+. The true cost of this surf camp is $850. If your circumstance allows you to pay higher on the sliding scale, this will help compensate us for our labor, while supporting our commitment to keeping sea camp more accessible. We recognize that income is just one of many factors that indicate what you can pay, and that some intersectional identities may experience additional financial barriers.     Sign-up is first come first serve. Registration closes July 1st, or once full. In order to provide payment plans we process payment as subscriptions. Even if you select one time payment, your invoice will show as a subscription, but will just be billed one time. Thank you!
