Does your middle or high school student need a math boost? Sign up for a Summer Math Prep course. The courses provide extra support in preparing your student for their next math course. If your student is unable to attend one of the math courses below but you are interested in math tutoring over the summer, please reach out to Kelly Guenther or Thomas Vigo as we have math tutors available. If you are unsure of which course your student should attend, please contact your current math teacher.
All math courses will be offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning June 9-July 16

Course Descriptions:
Math Course 2 Prep: 8:30-10:00am Tues/Thurs
Legacy’s Math Course 2 Prep class is specifically designed for students who need additional reinforcement before entering Math Course 2. This course focuses on building a solid foundation through structured practice, review of key concepts, and targeted instruction. Students will develop greater confidence and readiness to succeed in Math Course 2 in the fall.
Course Goals:
· Strengthen understanding of the order of operations and integer concepts.
· Reinforce skills with operations involving positive and negative numbers.
· Build fluency in coordinate graphing and interpreting points on a plane.
· Prepare equations with distribution and practice solving one- and two-step equations, including those with fractions.
· Review proportions, percents, and geometric formulas.
· Develop essential problem-solving strategies for Course 2 readiness.
Pre-Algebra Prep 10:15-11:45am Tues/Thurs
Legacy’s Pre-Algebra Prep course is designed for students who would benefit from targeted review before beginning Pre-Algebra. This course provides structured support and guided instruction to help students strengthen foundational skills, address learning gaps, and increase confidence. The goal is to ensure students are fully prepared to meet the demands of Pre-Algebra in the fall.
Course Goals:
· Review operations with integers and coordinate graphing.
· Practice combining like terms, using the distributive property, and factoring.
· Solve multi-step equations with increased accuracy.
· Strengthen understanding of proportional relationships, percent equations, and rates.
· Apply geometric formulas and substitution with confidence.
· Build readiness for characteristics of linear equations, exponents, and square roots.
Algebra I Prep 12:00-1:30pm Tues/Thurs
The Algebra I Prep course is intended for students who need additional preparation before beginning Algebra I. Through focused review, skill reinforcement, and clear instructional strategies, students will address key areas of difficulty and develop the tools they need to succeed in Algebra I during the upcoming school year. Students should bring a Texas Instruments Ti-30XS Multi-View calculator to this summer class.
Course Goals:
· Review multi-step equations, inequalities, and operations with fractions.
· Strengthen skills in simplifying expressions and solving literal equations.
· Build foundational understanding of functions, slope, and linear equations.
· Practice solving systems of equations with structured support.
· Graph linear equations from various given information.
· Introduce factoring and multiplying polynomials
