Dear Parents & Guardians:
We are so glad you and your family will join us for the Upshur County 4-H Outdoor Adventure Camp for grades K-12! Our certified Sportfishing and Natural Resources Project Coach, Lisa East, along with a dedicated committee of Upshur 4-H members and volunteers have created a week full of outdoor fun Monday, June 15– Friday, June 19. Camp times are approximately 9:00a until 4:00p daily, except Thursday which will end when the Hunter Safety Course concludes. (See the Schedule) Activities will be held all over NE Texas and the location is different each day. Children MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout each day of camp.
In addition to experiencing a variety of projects in 4-H, we have a lot of fun activities planned for our campers. Family members yonger than 5 yrs. old may not be able to participate in all activities. Completed Camp forms are due no later than Friday, May 29th. Please email lisa.east@ag.tamu.edu or lauryn.coffman@ag.tamu.edu, if you have questions or concerns.
SOME IMPORTANT POINTS:
- Be sure to READ and SIGN all required release forms. All youth and adults MUST complete these release forms. Please initial at the bottom that you have read these pages.
- Be aware of camp start AND end times and plan accordingly. The camp may only cost you food and transportation, but many hours and dollars have been spent to host this camp, so please be respectful of that, and if you register, make it a priority on your calendar and COME.
- Special accommodations: Upshur Co. Outdoor Adventure 4-H Camp strives to meet the individual needs of our campers. Please indicate any special need your camper may have on the registration form.
- Appropriate behavior: Please review the code of conduct form with your camper. Campers are asked to be respectful of each other’s feelings and privacy. We have a no-tolerance policy for bullying. (Bullying is defined as any intentional hurtful act, be it physical or mental). We ask you to help us prevent bullying by talking with your camper. Please do not hesitate to contact the county Agents, Julie York, and/or Lauryn Coffman if your camper experiences any type of bullying. We want to help resolve the situation.
