How Registration Works Each class is registered for individually, since class offerings rotate each week. Every Thursday includes: 2 elementary classes 2 middle/high classes 1 mixed-ages class 1 between-classes session (for a full day experience) This allows families to build the schedule that works best for them. Thursday Schedule Overview Our Thursday schedule is designed to give families flexibility while also making it possible to enjoy a full day of enrichment. Students may register for individual classes, several classes, or create a full-day experience. MIXED AGE CLASS: Spotlight Studios

Spotlight Studios invites students to step into the world of performance, creativity, storytelling, and self-expression through engaging, instructor-led activities. This class will help students build confidence on stage while learning the foundations of theater in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.
Throughout the year, students will explore acting skills, character development, voice and movement, stage presence, improvisation, simple scene work, and the basics of bringing a story to life. Rather than focusing only on performance, this class will also help students grow in communication, teamwork, listening skills, creativity, and confidence.
Students will participate in hands-on theater games, guided practice, group activities, and age-appropriate performance exercises designed to help both new and experienced students feel comfortable participating at their own level.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will move into more structured performance activities, including character expression, scene work, stage presence, and simple group presentations. Students will learn how to listen, respond, use facial expression and movement, and support each other as part of a creative team.

Elementary Class: Builders & Engineers Lab

Calling all curious creators, problem-solvers, and hands-on thinkers! Builders & Engineers Lab invites elementary students to explore the world of design, building, and invention through engaging projects and creative challenges. Students will use imagination, teamwork, and critical thinking as they experiment with structures, simple engineering concepts, and hands-on building activities.
Throughout the year, this class will encourage students to think like builders and engineers by exploring how things work, how designs come together, and how creativity and problem-solving can be used to bring ideas to life.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will move into more creative engineering challenges using everyday materials. They may design simple machines, ramps, moving parts, shelters, launchers, or themed builds while practicing teamwork, problem-solving, and learning that a failed design is often the first step toward a better one.

Middle/High Class: Global Bites – Discover the World Through Food

Take a delicious journey around the world in Global Bites: Discover the World Through Food. In this hands-on middle/high class, students will explore culture, geography, and tradition through cooking and tasting foods inspired by different countries. This class is designed to make learning interactive, practical, and memorable as students build kitchen confidence while discovering how food connects to history, people, and place.

Session C Focus
In Session C, students will explore Belgium, Ireland, and Poland through hearty recipes, traditional favorites, and the stories behind each country’s food culture. This session may include comfort foods, baked items, potato-based dishes, regional specialties, and simple European-inspired recipes while students continue practicing kitchen skills, recipe reading, and learning how geography, climate, and history shape what people eat.

Elementary Class: Messy Science Club

Get ready for hands-on discovery, exciting experiments, and plenty of fun in Messy Science Club! This elementary class is designed for curious learners who love to explore, test, create, and ask “what happens if…?” Through interactive experiments and engaging activities, students will experience science in a way that feels active, memorable, and fun.
Throughout the year, students will explore a variety of science themes through projects that encourage observation, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Each session introduces new concepts while building confidence in scientific exploration through hands-on, messy, and exciting learning experiences.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will explore Color, Weather & Wild Reactions through bright, active experiments that make science exciting and easy to understand. Students may work with color reactions, clouds or weather science, eruptions, bubbling experiments, or launch-style activities while practicing observation, prediction, and cause-and-effect thinking.

Middle/High Class: Garage IQ: Teen Auto Basics

Garage IQ: Teen Auto Basics is a hands-on life skills class for middle and high school students focused on practical car confidence, safety, and basic vehicle knowledge. This class is not designed to train mechanics, but to help teens understand the essential skills every young driver should know before driving independently.
Students will learn how to identify vehicle parts, understand dashboard warning lights, check fluids, inspect tires, handle common roadside situations, communicate with mechanics, and prepare for real-world car ownership. Each class includes instructor demonstration, hands-on practice, and real-life scenarios to help students build confidence in a safe, age-appropriate setting.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will focus on troubleshooting, roadside readiness, and staying calm when vehicle problems happen. Students may learn how to respond to common issues such as a dead battery, low tire, warning light, strange sound, overheating concern, or needing help from a mechanic or roadside service. The goal is not to train mechanics, but to help teens think clearly, communicate well, and make safer decisions.

Elementary Class: Wild Wonders: Animal Adventures

Students into an exciting, hands-on world of animal discovery. Students will explore habitats, behaviors, and the fascinating ways animals live and interact with the world around them through engaging activities, creative projects, and interactive learning.
What makes this class truly special is the opportunity for students to experience animals up close. Throughout the session, a live animal will be present during class, allowing students to observe, learn from, and safely interact with real animals as part of the lesson.
This class is designed for curious animal lovers who enjoy exploring nature, asking questions, and learning through hands-on experiences that bring science to life. All animal interactions will be guided and supervised to ensure a safe and respectful experience for both students and animals.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will learn more about how animals eat, move, communicate, protect themselves, and care for their young. Activities may include life cycles, animal behavior games, habitat building, matching activities, and careful observation practice that helps students think like young animal scientists. Each class will incorporate a live animal experience that connects directly to the topic, giving students a unique opportunity to learn through real-world interaction. No prior knowledge is needed—just curiosity and a love for animals.

Middle/High Class: Forensic & Crime Scene Lab

Forensic & Crime Scene Lab invites middle and high school students into the fascinating world of investigation, evidence, and problem-solving. In this hands-on class, students will explore how investigators observe, document, collect, and analyze clues to better understand what happened at a scene.
Throughout the year, students will build skills in observation, critical thinking, pattern recognition, logical reasoning, and evidence-based decision making. Activities may include mock crime scenes, fingerprint analysis, trace evidence exploration, case file reviews, suspect comparisons, and mystery-style challenges designed to help students think like investigators.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will focus on Case Building by learning how motive, means, opportunity, logic, alibis, and suspect elimination help investigators narrow a case. Students may review mock evidence, compare witness statements, organize clues, and work as a team to build a stronger theory based on facts.

Junior Archaeologist invites elementary students to dig into the past through hands-on discovery, exploration, and imagination. This class is designed for curious learners who love history, ancient cultures, artifacts, mysteries, and the excitement of uncovering clues from long ago.
Throughout the year, students will step into the role of young archaeologists as they explore how people lived, what they created, what they believed, and what they left behind. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, map work, artifact studies, and simple “dig site” style experiences, students will learn how archaeologists use clues to piece together stories from the past.
Students may explore ancient civilizations, lost cities, famous discoveries, writing systems, pottery, tools, monuments, myths, and everyday life from long ago in a way that feels active, memorable, and age-appropriate.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will dig into Fossils, Bones & Lost Worlds while learning about fossils, paleontology, bones, ruins, and reconstruction. Activities may include fossil-style observations, “what can we learn from bones?” discussions, clue-solving challenges, and projects that help students piece together stories from long ago.

Middle/High Class: Bakehouse Academy

A hands-on baking class designed for middle and high school students who are ready to build confidence in the kitchen while learning foundational baking skills. Students will practice reading recipes, measuring accurately, following multi-step directions, using kitchen tools safely, and understanding the basic techniques that help baked goods turn out successfully.
This class will go beyond simply making a recipe. Students will learn how ingredients work together, how to move confidently around the kitchen, and how presentation, patience, and practice all play a role in baking. Each class will include guided instruction, hands-on participation, and practical skills students can continue using at home.
Bakehouse Academy is a great fit for students who enjoy cooking, creativity, food presentation, or learning real-life skills in a fun and supportive environment. Overall Theme: Foundations of Baking & Kitchen Confidence

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will focus on Sweet Skills & Better Technique through frosting, decorating basics, cakes, cupcakes, pastry-style bakes, flavor-building, and recipe adjustments. This session will help students understand how technique, texture, flavor, and presentation all work together in successful baking.

MIXED AGE CLASS: Homesteading & Farm Skills

Homesteading & Farm Skills is a hands-on, mixed age class designed to help students build practical, real-life skills through meaningful, creative experiences. Each class focuses on simple, useful skills that connect to everyday life, encouraging independence, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how things are made.
Students will explore a variety of homesteading-inspired topics such as natural living, basic hand skills, and simple food preservation. Every class includes a hands-on project that students will create and take home, giving them something tangible to use, share, and be proud of.
While this class takes place on a working farm, lessons are intentionally structured and skill-based. When opportunities arise, elements from the farm may be incorporated to enhance learning, but all core activities are thoughtfully planned and stand on their own. Activities may include seasonal farm tasks, simple homesteading skills, animal or garden-related experiences, nature-based projects, and other hands-on opportunities shaped by the setting and season.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will focus on spring homestead preparation through seeds, soil, planting, garden planning, pollinators, baby animals, composting, herbs, and caring for living things. Students may bring home simple growing projects or hands-on activities that help them continue learning at home.

MIXED AGE CLASS: Conversational Spanish

Conversational Spanish is a fun and practical mixed age class designed to introduce students to everyday Spanish through hands-on activities, interactive learning, and simple conversational practice. Students will build vocabulary and confidence in a relaxed setting that encourages participation without pressure. This class is a wonderful option for families who want gentle language exposure with meaningful repetition and real-life connections.

Each monthly class includes take-home enrichment sheets to help students continue practicing between class meetings. These take-home activities are intended to be used alongside Mango, a free online language learning resource available through the library, helping families reinforce the month’s learning at home until the next class.

The full year will connect and build over time, but each session is also designed to stand on its own so families can join with confidence at any point.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will begin using more Spanish in real-life situations, such as asking simple questions, talking about likes and dislikes, naming places, ordering food, and using common phrases in short back-and-forth conversations. This session will help students grow more comfortable hearing Spanish, speaking out loud, and recognizing words they can use outside of class.

Elementary Class: Little Artists Studio

Little Artists Studio invites elementary students to explore art in a fun, hands-on, and encouraging environment. This class is designed to help young artists build confidence, creativity, and basic art skills while experimenting with a variety of materials, techniques, and styles.
Throughout the year, students will be introduced to different art concepts in an age-appropriate way, including color, texture, patterns, shapes, painting, drawing, mixed media, and creative expression. Projects will be designed to give students room to make their artwork their own while still learning foundational skills and following guided instruction.
This class is a great fit for students who love to create, explore, and try new things. The goal is not perfection, but confidence, creativity, and the joy of making something with their own hands.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will dive into Texture, Print & Mixed Media with projects focused on printmaking, collage, layered art, texture, and recycled materials. This session will give young artists the chance to try new tools and techniques while creating artwork that feels, looks, and builds differently from a regular drawing or painting.

Middle/High Class: Civic Voices: Mock Trial & Debate

Civic Voices: Mock Trial & Debate gives middle and high school students the opportunity to build confidence in speaking, reasoning, research, and respectful discussion while exploring the art of argument and the structure of mock trial. This class is designed to help students grow in critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, and the ability to clearly express and defend ideas in a supportive and engaging setting.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will move into Argue with Evidence through research, case preparation, opening statements, closing statements, cross-examination practice, and debate or trial work. This session will help students think through both sides of an issue, organize their ideas, ask stronger questions, and speak with more confidence in front of others.

Elementary Class: Kitchen Science Lab

Explore the exciting connection between cooking, science, and hands-on discovery. In this class, students will step into the kitchen as young scientists, using everyday ingredients to observe reactions, test ideas, measure, mix, create, and learn how science shows up in real life.
This class is designed to be interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate, giving students the opportunity to build confidence in the kitchen while strengthening observation skills, following directions, basic measuring, problem-solving, and curiosity. Students will participate in hands-on activities that may include simple food experiments, edible science projects, kitchen chemistry, sensory exploration, and creative take-home learning experiences.
Kitchen Science Lab is not a full cooking class, but a fun science-based class that uses the kitchen as the learning space. Students will discover that science can be practical, messy, delicious, and memorable.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will jump into Kitchen Chemistry in Action with experiments involving acids and bases, yeast and bubbling reactions, emulsions, separating mixtures, and other food-based science activities. Students will practice making predictions, observing reactions, and understanding how chemistry shows up in everyday cooking.

Middle/High Class: Outdoor Survival

Outdoor Survival gives students the opportunity to build practical, real-world skills through hands-on learning focused on preparedness, problem-solving, and confidence in outdoor environments.
This class is designed to move beyond theory and into action. Students will learn how to assess situations, make decisions, and use simple tools and resources to meet basic needs such as shelter, water, and safety. Activities are interactive, skill-based, and focused on helping students think critically and stay calm under pressure.
Throughout the year, students will develop foundational survival skills including shelter building, fire and water basics, navigation, signaling, and situational awareness. Each class emphasizes real-life application, teamwork, and building confidence through experience.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will move into Camp Skills & Survival Basics with practical lessons connected to fire safety, fire-building concepts, campfire skills, water, food prep, camp kitchen basics, first aid, signaling, and emergency response basics. This session will help students think through what to do when plans change outdoors and how to make safe, responsible decisions.

Students will also create simple, practical take-home items such as a mini survival kit, fire starter, or navigation tool to reinforce learning beyond the classroom.

Elementary Class: Young Detectives

Young Detectives invites elementary students to step into the world of clues, mysteries, observation, and problem-solving through hands-on, interactive experiences. This engaging class is perfect for curious learners who love to ask questions, solve puzzles, and figure out “whodunit” while building real thinking skills.
Throughout the year, students will explore detective-style challenges that strengthen observation, critical thinking, reasoning, and attention to detail. Each class includes hands-on activities, creative problem-solving, and a take-home component that allows students to continue the fun beyond the classroom.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will take on more detailed mystery activities that encourage sequencing, teamwork, memory, logic, and problem-solving. Students may compare suspects, sort clues, follow map mysteries, solve simple cases, and learn how detectives ask good questions before making decisions.

Middle/High Class: Creature Academy: Exotics, Behavior & Animal Care

Exotics, Behavior & Animal Care is a hands-on class designed for middle and high school students who are interested in animals, veterinary topics, and real-world animal care. This class goes beyond basic animal facts and focuses on understanding behavior, proper care, and the responsibility involved in working with animals.
Students will explore how animals communicate, how to safely and respectfully interact with them, and what it takes to properly care for a variety of species. Topics include behavior observation, habitat setup, feeding, basic health checks, and an introduction to veterinary-style thinking and care.
A live animal will be present during each class, allowing students to observe, learn from, and (when appropriate) safely interact with real animals as part of the learning experience. Animals may include a variety of small farm, domestic, or exotic species, depending on the lesson focus.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will go deeper into animal behavior and care routines, including topics similar to entry-level vet tech learning. Students may discuss basic health checks, stress signs, nutrition, enrichment, enclosure needs, sanitation, and how to observe an animal before handling or interacting with it. Live animal observation may be included when available and appropriate.
This class is designed to be engaging, interactive, and appropriately challenging for middle and high school students who are ready to take a deeper, more responsible approach to working with animals.

Time Travelers Club invites elementary students to step into the past and explore what everyday life was like in different eras through hands-on activities, stories, creative projects, and interactive learning. Rather than focusing only on dates and facts, this class helps students discover how people lived, worked, dressed, played, learned, cooked, built, and created long ago.
Throughout the year, students will “travel” to different time periods through engaging projects and experiences that make history feel real and memorable. Activities may include simple crafts, old-fashioned games, writing activities, hands-on demonstrations, role-play, and creative projects inspired by daily life in the past.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will compare how life changed across different eras by exploring inventions, transportation, communication, schools, jobs, family life, and community life long ago. Through stories, hands-on activities, and creative projects, students will discover that history is not just dates — it is the story of real people and how they lived.

Middle/High Class: Art Through Time

Explore history through creativity, hands-on art projects, and meaningful discussion. Instead of simply learning about famous artists or time periods, students will experience how art has reflected culture, daily life, beliefs, inventions, and major historical moments throughout time.
This class is designed for students who enjoy creating, exploring new techniques, and connecting art with the world around them. Throughout the year, students will study different time periods, artistic movements, and creative styles while completing projects inspired by the people, materials, and stories of the past.
Students will build confidence in their artistic abilities while also strengthening observation, creativity, historical understanding, and personal expression. Projects may include drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture-inspired work, design elements, and other hands-on creative activities connected to each theme.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will move into more expressive art movements and techniques. Projects may connect to impressionism, post-impressionism, modern art, symbolism, mixed media, or cultural art styles while helping students understand how art reflects the time, place, emotions, and message of the artist.

A hands-on, movement-based class designed to help students build confidence, body awareness, strength, coordination, and healthy habits in a fun and encouraging environment. This class will introduce students to age-appropriate fitness activities while also helping them understand the importance of movement, nutrition, hydration, rest, and caring for their bodies.
This class will focus on progress, participation, and personal growth rather than competition. Students will take part in guided activities, simple workouts, games, stretching, and practical wellness discussions that help them learn how to make healthy choices in everyday life.
Throughout the year, students will explore different areas of health and fitness, including physical activity, flexibility, endurance, balance, teamwork, goal-setting, and basic wellness habits. The goal is to create a positive foundation for lifelong health while keeping the class active, approachable, and fun.

Session C Focus:
In Session C, students will explore how movement supports the whole body, including strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and confidence. Activities may include circuit-style movement, partner challenges, outdoor games, rhythm activities, and simple wellness habits students can practice at home.

Session C: Class 4 - Before/Between/After Class Sessions (2/25, 3/25, 4/29)
Between-Class Care is available during transition times to help families create a fuller day of enrichment when students are enrolled in surrounding classes.

Please note that Between-Class Care is only available between registered classes or immediately before a student’s first class or after their last class of the day. We are not able to provide supervision during class times for students who are not actively enrolled in the class taking place during that time block.

For example, the 9:00–9:30 AM care period may be used for arrival before a student’s first class of the day, and the 4:30–5:00 PM care period may be used after a student’s last class. If a student is not enrolled in a class during an active class block, they must be picked up before that class begins.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
I understand that participation in Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical activity, hands-on learning, tools, experiments, cooking and food preparation, outdoor environments, uneven ground, mud, insects, weather exposure, contact with animals, and the presence and use of farm equipment, machinery, tools, vehicles, fencing, gates, and other conditions associated with a working farm. I understand that classes and activities take place at Strawberry Roan Farm, a working farm, and that such conditions may present known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen risks of injury, illness, allergic reaction, property damage, or other harm.

I voluntarily assume all such risks on behalf of my child(ren) and myself, whether arising from ordinary negligence or otherwise, and I release, waive, and agree to hold harmless Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group, its organizers, instructors, volunteers, assistants, and venue partners, including Strawberry Roan Farm and its owners, agents, and representatives, from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to participation in classes, activities, events, or use of the premises, except to the extent caused by gross negligence, willful misconduct, or as otherwise prohibited by applicable law. Health, Allergies, & Hands-On Materials
I agree to disclose at registration, and to promptly update if anything changes, any allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, medications, behavioral needs, accommodation requests, or other health or safety information relevant to my child’s participation. I understand that Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group will make reasonable efforts to support disclosed needs, but cannot guarantee an allergen-free, exposure-free, or risk-free environment. Semi-Drop-Off & Supervision Policy
Kindred Spirits classes operate as a semi-drop-off program. Parents are welcome to drop students off for any class or care period for which they are registered and are not required to remain on site. For everyone’s safety, students must be checked in directly with the instructor or supervising adult before a parent leaves. Please do not drop students at the door and drive away without confirming supervision.

Parents who choose to remain on site during class are welcome to wait in the designated room inside the building, outside near the front of the building, or in the parking lot in their vehicle. To avoid interfering with classes and for the safety of our working farm environment, parents and siblings should not remain in the classroom or immediate teaching area and should not wander the property unless participating in an approved activity.

Supervision is provided only during the scheduled class or registered care times. If a student is enrolled in Before, Between, or After Class Care, supervision is available only during those registered care periods. Students may not be left unattended on the property at any time.

Late Pick-Up Policy
Children must be picked up promptly at the end of their registered class or care period. A 15-minute grace period is allowed. After that, a late fee of $5 for every 5 minutes will be charged and is due at pick-up, payable to the instructor or supervising adult who remained with the child. If a parent or authorized pickup person cannot be reached, emergency contacts may be called. Repeated late pick-ups may affect a family’s ability to continue using classes or care options. Supervision is provided only during registered class and care times.

Behavior Expectations
We strive to keep Kindred Spirits a safe, respectful, and positive environment where all students can learn and enjoy their time together. Students are expected to follow instructor directions, participate safely, treat others with kindness and respect, and use materials, animals, and property appropriately.

If a student’s behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe, a parent/guardian may be contacted for support and, if needed, asked to pick up their student early. In situations where a student is not able to participate safely or appropriately in the class setting, removal from class may occur without refund.

Refund, Cancellation, and Chargeback Policy
All registration fees and class fees are non-refundable once submitted. By registering, families understand that a student’s space is being reserved immediately and that Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group begins incurring costs for staffing, supplies, planning, and facility use in advance. For that reason, no refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes, withdrawals, schedule conflicts, change of mind, or failure to attend.

If Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group cancels a class or program, a make-up class, transfer, account credit, or refund may be offered at the group’s discretion, depending on the circumstances.

By completing registration, the parent/guardian acknowledges and agrees to this no-refund policy and agrees not to dispute or charge back properly authorized charges except in cases of fraud or billing error. Any chargeback or payment dispute filed in violation of this agreement may result in loss of future registration privileges and collection efforts for amounts owed, to the extent permitted by law.

Field Trips & Off-Site Activities
I understand that some classes, meet-ups, or special activities may take place at off-site locations and may involve additional inherent risks related to travel, unfamiliar environments, outdoor conditions, public spaces, animals, equipment, terrain, weather, and venue-specific conditions. Unless otherwise stated in writing, transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. I agree to follow all rules, waivers, and safety requirements of the host venue or activity provider.
