Does OLH have your permission to present the Teaching Touching Safety program to your child(ren)/youth?* This field is required.Our Lady of the Hills (OLH) Religious Education will present a sexual abuse prevention program, the Teaching Touching Safety to our students on September 27, 2026 and September 30, 2026 with a make-up date of October 7, 2026. The creators of the Protecting God’s Children program developed the Touching Safety program. This program is provided to us by the Diocese of Charleston and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from sexual abuse. The scheduled lesson is being offered to all students at our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. As a parent, you have the right to choose if you DO NOT want your child to participate. We encourage you to read the “overview” and “lesson plan” so you’ll be aware of the nature of the Touching Safety program available at: (www.nationalcatholic.org/touchingsafety/charleston.cfm) If you have any questions about the program or the lesson, contact Jackie Brace at olhbrace@yahoo.com or 803-772-7400 ext. 1130. If you determine that you DO NOT want your child to participate, please complete the “opt-out” form at the bottom of this page. For more information on the Safe Haven program, visit the Safe Haven Online website at www.virtus.org. It is important to note, this is a basic prevention education and is no way to be considered sex education or education on private body parts. Neither of these components fall within our education mandate to provide your child with the information needed to keep them safe from those who would do them harm.
