Wet Felted "Pinch Pots"
Join us for a playful, hands-on felting workshop inspired by classic clay pinch pots. In this class, you’ll create 2 small felted bowls by building up thick squares of colorful wool and embellishment fibers, then pinching up the corners to form sweet, sculptural vessels.
This is a fun class for beginners and experienced felters alike. Working with thicker layers allows you to clearly see how fibers come together, shift, and strengthen through the felting process. You’ll explore blending colored merino, adding shine with viscose fibers or silk hankies, and creating a rich surface texture.
Once the felt squares are formed, you’ll get to pick from a selection of colored rivets to fasten up the corners. Your pinch pots will be perfect for a nightstand, desk, jewelry, small treasures, a gift, or simply to admire. If you have leftover strips of felt - they make sturdy bookmarks, too!
Along the way, you’ll learn the basic steps of wet felting and discover which tools are most helpful for transforming loose fibers into a strong, cohesive fabric. Fun is always included—along with snacks and plenty of encouragement to explore and play.

About the Artist
Laura McClain is a wet felting artist and educator who works with wool to create
functional and expressive décor, accessories, and wearables. At the heart of her
practice is a method she calls Felt by Feel—a playful, embodied conversation between
maker and material that allows her to stay connected to the wool’s changing textures,
while tapping into her own responses as the work evolves. Laura has been creating with fiber arts since childhood and brings a balance of technical knowledge, curiosity, and fun to her teaching.
