Street Paws is committed to helping our community humanely trap community cats for spay/neuter or rescue. To support this effort, we offer humane traps available for short-term loan.
Program Requirements
To borrow a trap, participants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide a valid driver's license or government-issued ID
- Complete and sign the Trap Loan Agreement Form below
- Provide a deposit (see below)
Deposit
A refundable deposit is required to ensure the safe return of equipment.
- Deposit Amount: $50 per trap
- Deposit is refunded when:
- Trap is returned on time
- Trap is clean and good working condition (all traps must be properly sanitized with the specified cleaner)
Lost, stolen, or damaged traps will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Loan Period
- Standard loan period: 3-5 days
- Extensions may be granted only if requested before the due date
- Late returns may result in:
- Loss of deposit
- Suspension from future borrowing
Proper Use Guidelines
Borrowers agree to:
- Use traps only for humane trapping of community cats
- Traps must never be left unattended
- Monitor traps frequently
- Provide food, water, and shade as needed
- Keep trapped animals safe and protected from weather and extreme temperatures
- Street Paws can provide basic trapping guidance if needed.
Return Condition
Traps must be returned:
- Clean (free of waste, food, debris)
- In the same condition as received
- By the agreed-upon return date

Responsibility & Liability
By Participating in the Trap Loan Program, borrowers acknowledge:
- They are responsible for the trap while in their possession
- Street Paws is not liable for injuries, damages, or incidents related to trap use
- They will follow humane trapping practices
- Borrow agrees to return all trap equipment by the return date. Failure to return borrowed equipment may result in civil action and/or referral to law enforcement for investigation under applicaple Georgia theft statutes, including theft by conversion (O.C.G.A. § 16-8-4).
- Agreement to pay recovery costs and attorney fees
- Trap replacement cost is $120 per trap.

Success stories are required for our grant partners
- Submit a detailed list of animals helped
- Submit photos of the project
These must be emailed to kristi@streetpaws.org within 1 day of completing the project.
