      Jeanne Moody
Jeanne started Scottish Country Dancing at Bryn Mawr College in the Delaware Valley Branch, PA, then continued dancing in Portland, OR, and now San Diego, CA. It has been her pleasure to teach a dedicated beginner’s class since earning teaching certification in 2012, and her deepest satisfaction comes from the core group who return every season to welcome new dancers. Jeanne has been fortunate to teach at workshops around the US and Canada, including Pinewoods, Scottish Weekend, Asilomar, and TAC Summer School.

When not dancing Jeanne works as a medicinal chemist in drug discovery. It’s a challenging and rewarding pursuit.

Jeanne absolutely loves sharing the joy of this dance form. It is her hope to make dancing approachable, fun, and elegant – “to make the music visible.” She is honored to join you in celebrating our music, our dancing, and the rich and varied community of SCD!

      Rachel Pusey
Rachel has danced since her teens, starting with barn dances, leveling up to English, taking to Scottish with the zeal of a convert, briefly digressing into salsa, and more recently catching the contra bug. She loves introducing new dancers to the joy and community of dancing, and that's what drew her to teaching and calling. She has taught SCD since 2004 in St Louis, the Bay Area, and Seattle, completed her RSCDS certification in 2015, and also calls ECD. Rachel believes that being serious about dancing involves laughing a lot and invites you to join her!
