ENTRY RULES FOR THE VIRGINIA KENTUCKY DISTRICT FAIR TALENT SHOW
1. The contest is open to all amateur entertainers either individuals or groups for the following
divisions: Youth (15 and under) and Adults (16 and over). Professionals or those whose talents are a primary source of income are not permitted to compete.
2. Individuals or groups are required to submit an official entry form along entry fee ($25.00 for adults and $15.00 for youth). The entry deadline is the Thursday of the fair, at 12:00 p.m.; later entries can be accepted if divisions are not full.
3. Maximum time limit on all acts is 5 minutes. Any act that exceeds 5 minutes will have points deducted.
4. If music is needed for accompaniment, it must be of the highest quality and be brought on the day of the contest on a CD. Absolutely no background vocals are allowed on recorded accompaniment.
5. Contestants will be judged on state presence, technical ability, audience participation, and overall performance.
6. Prize Money (subject to change depending on entries):
Adult Division- $500
Youth Division-$250
