This week-long, hands-on art class invites students to explore the exciting world of mixed media through both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artmaking. Designed to spark imagination and curiosity, this course emphasizes creative thinking, experimentation, and critical problem-solving while building strong foundational art skills.
Students will learn essential elements and principles of design, art vocabulary, and technical skills while working across a wide range of materials and processes. Through guided projects and open-ended exploration, participants will experiment with acrylic and watercolor painting, drawing, clay relief, colored pencils, printmaking, collage, and sculptural mixed media, while also learning about influential art movements.
Throughout the week, students will create a variety of artworks, including drawings, abstract paintings, watercolors, mixed media collages and sculptures, and a self-portrait. Emphasis is placed on process over perfection, encouraging students to take creative risks, develop confidence, and discover their own artistic voice in a supportive studio environment.
This class is ideal for young artists who enjoy working with their hands, thinking creatively, and exploring new materials and ideas.
