Audition Information

How do I know if I need to audition?
- Look up your ensemble or area of interest on our website: https://santafesymphony.org/registration-tuition-financial-aid/
- Who does need to audition?
  - All new students who want to participate in intermediate and advanced ensembles (Prelude String Orchestra, Intermezzo String Orchestra, Santa Fe Youth Chorus, Jazz Project, Mariachi Citlali, YP, YSO, Quemazon, and Mariachi Estrella)
  - All returning students who want to move up to an intermediate or advanced ensemble
  - All returning students who want to join a type of ensemble that they have not participated in before (for instance, an Orchestra student who wants to switch to/add an intermediate or advanced Jazz, Mariachi, or Chorus ensemble)
  - All returning students in advanced ensembles - students who have previously participated in YP, YSO, Quemazon, and Mariachi Estrella
  - All new and returning students who want to participate in Chamber Music
- Who does not need to audition?
  - All new and returning students who want to participate in a beginner ensemble
    
    Beginner ensembles - Elementary Violin, SF Children's Chorus I and II, Los Alamos Children's Chorus, Running Start String Orchestra, and Beginner Mariachi
  - All returning students who want to remain in the same intermediate level ensemble as last year
    
    Intermediate ensembles - Prelude String Orchestra, Intermezzo String Orchestra, Santa Fe Youth Chorus, Jazz Project, and Mariachi Citlali

Audition Selection
Please select an audition date and time for the appropriate ensembles and review the audition locations before submitting your application. As it is difficult to re-schedule auditions, in order to accommodate all students, we ask that you please consider any possible changes in your schedule before booking and cancel only in case of an emergency.

NOTE: Refunds will only be processed if a cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled audition
