Biography:
Elizabeth Keith, PT, PCS, is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy (2000, 2010, and 2020) with over 30 years of advanced clinical practice and professional instruction. For 22 years, she has served as the owner and clinical instructor at Young Body Rehabilitation in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, establishing a multi-university internship hub. Her clinical expertise spans teaching hospitals and level-one trauma centers, in addition to specializing in intensive episodic models of care utilizing the original Adeli Method Suit Intervention, Rhythmic Movement Training (Level 4), joint-specific casting, electrical stimulation, NISE-Stim®, and Body Weight Support Systems (gait training).
Elizabeth brings expertise to her role as instructor for the advanced course NISE-Stim® 2 for Spine and Tone Modulation. In her instructional capacity, she teaches advanced clinical reasoning models based upon posture, selective motor control, and active engagement for best patient outcomes. She enjoys clinical mentorship for problem solving with strengthening and positioning protocols for severe neuromotor challenges.
Program Objectives:
By the end of this 14-hour training, participants will be able to:
1. Apply advanced NISE-Stim® concepts by integrating updated spinal electrical stimulation principles and recent clinical developments into treatment planning.
2. Design targeted treatment strategies for kyphosis, scoliosis, lordosis, hypotonia, spasticity, and dystonia using condition-specific stimulation approaches.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in practical application of NISE-Stim® through accurate electrode placement, parameter selection, and hands-on trunk-specific stimulation techniques.
4. Perform advanced trunk assessment and clinical reasoning to identify structural and functional impairments and tailor individualized NISE-Stim® protocols.
5. Improve postural alignment, stability, and functional motor outcomes through integration of spinal stimulation with positioning and movement-based strategies.
6. Demonstrate clinical competence and confidence by observing, participating in, and reflecting on live treatments of children with complex neuromotor presentations, including spasticity, dystonia, and hypotonia.
