Wheel Throwing 101

Join instructor Megan Perry, at Umpqua Valley Arts' The Clay Place for this beginner ceramic class!!
In this class, Megan Perry will cover all the basics of wheel throwing from clay wedging and centering to pulling for taller pieces and how to create dynamic shapes. She will guide students through various projects and shapes such as cylinders, bowls, curved vases, and plates. Additional details like trimming, combining forms, and surface decoration will help bring your pieces to life. With these skills, students can also use studio time to focus on their particular areas of interest and get lots of practice to hone their skills.
This class is a great skill building opportunity for beginning artists, but is open to students of all skill levels.
Suggested for students ages 15 and up, no experience is necessary. Cost of class includes all instruction and materials.
