  • Please read and sign below in acknowledgment that you understand the following regarding our Residency Program

    1. Resident will receive free onsite housing at The Sonoma Community Center
    2. Resident will receive a $750/month stipend
    3. Resident will work 20 hours a week for the studio in exchange for the above stated.
    4. Resident will pay for clay at wholesale cost price
    5. Resident will receive free glazing and firing within reason - significant use of expensive materials such as cobalt, lithium, etc. will be re-assessed and a resident may be charged for said materials. Sonoma Ceramics does not provide underglazes, Luster, or other specialty materials free of charge.
    6. Residents should not plan to make work for other large exhibitions or shows during their residency that may inhibit their work toward their solo show. All other exhibition commitments must be discussed with the Department Director prior to accepting .
    7. While we do not require a car, residents are highly encouraged to bring a car if at all able. Studio staff are unable to provide routine ride accomodations and residents should be prepared to find alternative means of transpsortion via Ubers, car rentals, etc. if they do not have a car.
    8. Our residents live in the main building of the Sonoma Community Center. The Center may be noisy at times due to early or late programming/events scheduled.
    9. While Sonoma Ceramics only has one Resident at a time, the Resident works alongside, in a private space, all studio members. Residents are expected to be welcoming, engaging, and build relationships with other studio members during their residency time. If you are looking for a solo retreat style residency with little to no community interaction, this may not be the residency for you.
