The Art of Healing - 15th Installment

The Art of Healing is an exciting collaboration between Englewood Health (EH) in Englewood, NJ and The Art School at Old Church in Demarest, NJ. As part of an initiative to bring art into the lives of patients and visitors at the hospital, The Art School and EH have worked together to turn the hospital hallways into galleries. EH and The Art School recognize the healing potential of art, the display of art enhances EH's culture of compassion and humanism in medicine, contributing to the comfort and well-being of its patients and visitors.

The Art of Healing began in 2014 and the 15th phase of this show will begin on Sep 15, 2026. It is a wonderful opportunity for artists to showcase their work. This exhibition is open to artists over 18. 2D (no AI, digital prints or printed canvas) work under 4 feet x 4 feet will be considered.

Artwork Eligibility • All 2-D artwork under 4’ x 4’ will be considered. No AI, digital prints (except photos) or printed canvas. 

Image Submission •  Artists 18 and over may submit up to six images (minimum of three) for $20. Additional images are $5 each, with a limit of eight images per artist. All fees are non-refundable. Images must be submitted as JPGs and files identified in the following format:  

ArtistLastName_FirstInitial_1.jpg. Images should be no larger than 2mb each. Images should represent artwork only, no frames or surrounding area. 

Sales • Sales are encouraged. 35% of the proceeds from sales will benefit The Art School at Old Church, a non-profit organization and the AOH program. Please indicate the price of all work or mark NFS for Not For Sale.

Exhibition Dates • Works submitted by June 1 will be considered for exhibition from September 15, 2026 - August 18, 2027. If selected, artists will be contacted to participate in this year's show via email.

Agreement • Selected work must be securely framed, ready to hang (wired, no sawtooth) and delivered or shipped to The Art School at Old Church at 561 Piermont Rd, Demarest NJ between August 24 - 25, 2026 and picked up on August 26-27 2027. The Art School at Old Church reserves the right to reject works not satisfactorily represented by the images submitted or artwork that arrives in a condition unsuitable for hanging. Submissions of entries to this competition constitutes agreement by the entrant to these conditions.
