Another chance to visit Coleman's Farm Quarry. The Kesgrave Thames river gravels contain boulders and pebbles from as far away as North Wales and S W England, and Hertfordshire Puddingstone.
Mammoth remains, Palaeolithic tools and a variety of derived fossils have been found. Ice age geology is visible and we will get a chance to find our own specimens on the reject pile.
The owner will also show us the latest collection of artefacts he has found.
Coleman's is a working quarry - no under 18s permitted. Helmets, boots and high visibility jacket or tabard are required. Maximum number of persons 25.
Bulls Lodge, Highwood and Colemans quarries all complement each other as visits.
