Parental/Guardian Volunteer Hours

Starting in the fall of 2024, the MYO Board of Directors has decided to make volunteering mandatory for each family participating in MYO sports. All families will be required to provide a $50 deposit check at the beginning of each season. Families who choose to opt-out of volunteering the required 5 hours each season will have their checks cashed. **Volunteer duties will include coaching practice each week and/or working the MYO Baseball/Softball tournament on 6/20/26 & 6/21/26 to meet the 5 hours. If you meet your 5 hours of volunteer time we will NOT cash your $50 check. ***The City of Mobridge’s Event Coordinator will maintain a spreadsheet of volunteer activities for parents/guardians of MYO athletes. She will send a remind out with various events you may sign up to volunteer for and keep track of completed hours. See MYO Facebook for more volunteer opportunities. ****PLEASE SEND A FACEBOOD MESSAGE TO MYO WITH WHAT HOURS WERE COMPLETED ON EACH DATE to ensure we keep them correctly**** Once your family has volunteered for their 5 required hours, MYO will destroy your $50 check. If your family does not volunteer for their 5 required hours, MYO will cash your $50 check to help defray the costs of paid help.

Waiver I am fully aware that this sport activity may cause accidental injury to athletes. I likewise assume any and all possible risk that may cause injury, illness, or death arising to such activity. I hereby declare that I waive my right to pursue any and all claims against the Commission and the Organizing Committee of this event should in any case that the accident, injury, illness or death occurs in the course of any activity held by them.

I am also fully aware that parental involvement on the field is crucial for these leagues to be successful.
